Thanks for the info Gav, I look forward to joining you. I had the same idea with a Yahoo! Group I created paying respect to Prince & The Related Artist:

The Minneapolis sound, Prince Related vibes, MPLS Funk – Whatever you call it, there’s a definite sound and feel that has spawned and inspired a whole heap of artists who appeal to the eclectic bunch known as Prince fans.

Out of the ashes of the popular Housequake.com website, a small devoted team are putting together a new forum where fans of great music can come together to not only discuss past and current music, but share new discoveries from the world of funk.

Bringing you news, interviews, media, and a few surprises along the way, MoQuake.com aims to be the place to be for fans of all types of funky music.

Come on y'all, we got 2 jam...

Then skip the Associated Artists section, and stop pissing on someone else's parade. Why do you care if someone opens a Prince site? I mean, really - are you going to lose sleep over it? Probably not, right? So letitgo.

I for one am all for the site. The more Prince sites the better. But the description specifcally states that it's about "Minneapolis Music," not just Prince. My own personal question is... what other Minneapolis music is it going to be about other than Prince and his associated artists? And if it's about local bands, who but those within the city limits of Minneapolis itself is it meant to appeal to?

It was just a question. No reason to get all bent out of shape about it.

There are a lot of bands from Minneapolis. You must have forgotten about everyone else from Bob Dylan, to Alexander O'Neal to Mint Condition. Tons of others. It all depends where Gav wants to take it, but there are plenty of real Minneapolis bands that folks know of to discuss on there - if that's one's intention.

I'm not freaking out at all, Mr. Cuke. But if you couldn't care less about yet another Prince forum - then take the shade elsewhere.

There's no real boundaries to be honest - if someone wants to start a thread about a classical piece that others may find interesting then that's fine.

..and presumably if Justin Bieber has a Prince sounding/MPLS sound influenced track on his next album. You are not going to delete my thread wanting to discuss it? Are you Gav? Gav? GAV!??

Will this forum allow the posting of Prince vids from YouTube and other sites?

maybe themed nights where vids could be streamed with a chat box like JTV and UStream once a week, abit like the recent breath of fresh air..... Blog Radio related threads..... only with bells on smiletwocents

Ps... i regularly stream to JTV my iTunes, and the reaction i get is of astonishment of how peeps have just not heard Prince's music in 15 years or so.....and you know what they love it cool ...just putting it out there for the uneducated ear... razz
