Although Prince has covered multiple genres with his music,

I haven't seen him with a Les pauls guitar at all!
It's thinkable that it could be experimental and interesting to see him doing something with it. Don't you think?

Check out the video for "Dinner With Delores". If I recall it well, he plays a goldtop Les Paul there.
