You've probably heard it, we've been hearing it for about a month.

THERE IS A NEW PRINCE ALBUM COMING!!

Here's the problem, and know this going into this thread.

THAT IS ONLY A RUMOR AND ANY "FACTS" PRESENTED HERE ARE NOT FACTS THEY ARE RUMOR!!!

Having said that, it's going to be talked about, it's already on Facebook and has popped up here too. The rumor cannot be stopped, but it can be pointed out that thus far there is NO PROOF and NO-ONE claiming to have proof will cough up ANYTHING.

Here's what we have heard. THERE IS NO PROOF OF THIS!!!!!

The album is titled "Andrognynine" or "Androgny9" <-- RUMOR

It is due out in June perhaps the 13th. <-- RUMOR

The rumors claim it will be released with newspapers in Europe. No-one claiming to be "in the know" has yet to say anything about Ebony Magazine in the US, and there are a number of logical things to think about there. <-- NO PROOF OF THAT

We've also hear purported track listings and singles, but again NO PROOF.

OK, please feel free to discuss, but know full well, until something is posted officially THIS IS ONLY RUMOR. NO-ONE HERE KNOWS AND WITHOUT A LINK TO PROOF DO NOT BELIEVE THEM!!!

The minute we have some concrete proof, we will post a thread with facts and make it very clear that it is an official confirmation. Until then, don't fall prey to those that try and convince you of anything here without providing proof.

The Belgian newspaper rumor is a very funny rumor for sure. If it would be true (and I said if if if), I don't get the move at all. But if....I'll appreciate the funny move for sure and be the first to run to the newsagent, no matter how much crap he puts on it.

Hmmmm. The word Androgny (if it is indeed that word) kinda fits but, also, odd.

It's a person who identifies themselves with no specific gender, having both feminine and masculine traits. Kinda fits but...it's stretching it.

Also, it could very well be associated with bi-sexual/pansexual people.

But, hey....this is rumour, it may not even be this word and i could have it wrong....i mean, what's the nine about?

Most info so far seems to be coming true but, all we can do is wait and see.

Thank you so much for this. Even if there are 50,000,000 threads started up about it (and we can pretty much predict there will be. Sorry you'll have so much extra work to do), as a sticky, it clears up the muck, so thanks again.

If indeed Prince uses Androgny for his next project it could be a vault/old material project as it may contain songs Prince no longer associates himself with (overtly sexual, political views, ungodly things, anything pre-millenium!) thus giving it a name he used to be associated with back in the 80s/90s he can distance himself from it - but still allowing his great unreleased stuff to be heard.

The site I saw the rumour on had it for up for an hour max. 13 June Belgian paper, no tracklist or name. That site so far for me, is in the loop pretty quickly. It was like a news flash. If it's not a rumour, Prince and the team sure know how quickly news travels.
