This song just never gets boring, does it? Does it!!

You have that genius keyboard beat. Simple but hits you in the gut. The beat itself is great. The wistful synth melody goes in and out--amazing. The Camille voice is used well. The lyrics are great. I really like the part when he makes love to his strings..lol. We all make love to those, I'd assume.

This is just a badass song. One of the top tunes of the 90s. He could learn a bit more from songs like this.

yeah it's not an amazing song on paper, but it just has that whatever that makes it really cool

Never understood the love this track gets, it just feels bland to me.

It's interesting, but even on Prince's weakest albums (and yes, Newpower Soul is one of them), at least one track always ends up becoming a classic for me. Like on Musicology, which I'm really not a fan of, but Reflection never gets the skip button on my zune.

Its aaiiight I guess but saying its one of the great songs of the 90s says more about the 90s than the song.

I like it. It's doesn't come close to his best work, but it's probably the best Prince can do without equally talented musicians in the room.

"Come on" is a really good example to show how Prince was truly lost in the musical landscape of the 90's.
The song is really nothing more than your typical gangsta rap rhythm/music track of the time. With its dark, brooding, pumping beat and dissonant key change and synth melody.
Except, instead of Snoop Dog or Ice Cube rapping over it, theres these Princey Camille lyrics sung on top of it.
Which really made no sense, because he's singing about getting married and making love/music metaphors, while the music is this very dark, brooding gangsta track.

I love that song! Hated the video!

This is such a great song - I never get tired of it. Plus, the remixes and live versions always keep it fresh! The Cafe de Paris soundboard recording of it (if you edit out the doug e fresh rap) is by far the best recording of the song in my opinion - as it, in 7 minutes, incorporates the original and the remixed-rap version into one song!

I completely agree with those who said the version he performed on Leno was much better than the studio version. The guitar on the Leno version is killer! By comparison the studio version sounds pretty tame.

It's not his best of course, but it's really fun and catchy. I love the vocals too. Some of the lyrics are cheesy but it works!

Super funky & Chaka Khan's hook was on point. It reminds me of his surprise Hit & Run shows he would do at the last minute back then. The stress of getting there and standing in line dealing with the stuck up fans. But the reward of witnessing the best live performer ever. This song live was funky funky funky.
