Just bought a dvd player, will receive rave from netflix soon, and purple rain. can anyone comment on prince dvds? is there anything special that are on the dvds? extras? etc.

Well U got sign'O'the times dvd from brazil, its very gound sound, but dark image. on Ebay u can get it for about 15$

RAVE UN2 THE YEAR 2000 is the only official Prince DVD with extras.

They are:

* "Innerviews" (interviews with band members and associates about the event and Prince)

* Bonus Groovez (extra snippets of songs including:)
- "Flashlight" (w/ George Clinton)
- "The Undertaker" (w/ Cathy Jensen (sax) and Jimmy Russell (harmonica)
- "Release Urself" (w/ Larry Graham)

* Freedom Newz (one of the ubiquitous NPG rambles similar to what used to be found on the old official website)

* Peep This (an ad for a Prince sample DJ set)

The only other Prince DVDs I know of (at least that I have been able to purchase here in Australian stores) are:

THE HITS - 15 Prince music videos, (unfortunately omitting many classics due to it being the same as the original VHS version, with no updates or added videos for the DVD format) no extras. Still a worthy buy in my opinion.

PURPLE RAIN - movie, scene access, no extras.

I'm sure I read somewhere not too long ago that Prince had signed a deal with Sony to release SOTT and Lovesexy on DVD. Can someone confirm or deny this?

There are Bootleg DVD-R copies of all the Prince videos/concerts that have been released. They are great quality with artwork and everything!
