I think TRC will always be a huge discussion piece among fans. There is no middle ground on it, it seems. Folks either luv it or hate it.

It still sucks monkey balls.

I think musically it is great, but not knowing much about jw doctrine kinda makes the lyrics 2 most tracks meaningless 2 me.

Your reply is juvenile at best. It's the same old "you're just jealous" routine that some 4th grader would extol on the masses on the school yard.

I'm not jealous of anything Prince is, was, or will be. To be jealous of someone is a waste of my time. I have the same musical gift that Prince does. We both play music, we both write music. He's done other things with his gift that are different than what I've done with mine. Neither is right or wrong, it's just relative to our own experience.

I'm certainly not jealous of his bullshit Jehovah's Witness status. It's what has made him soft, lifeless, uninspired, and generic.

As far as what people say about my music... SO WHAT. I will continue to do what God gave me talent to do. If people have a problem with that, that's none of my business. Prince doesn't care what I think of The Rainbow Children, so why should I care what someone else thinks of my music? I've had positive and negative feedback on my music, but it's left me undeterred in making more music, or changing what I've already done. Prince has already used his religious crutch as an excuse to go back and deny his past (a past God gave him and that we helped foster by buying music and concert tickets), and edit his music. It's like chopping off your kid's finger because they picked their nose. It's unethical of Prince to do it, and there's nothing about that which I am jealous of.

And "soft" is wrong, right Ernest?

I think TRC is a masterpiece.

I, for the record am not calling your music trash ernest...If you are Jewish, I wouldn't refer to your religion as BULLSHIT..as u did of PRINCE'S...MY RESPONSE TO YOUR POST IS NOT JUVENILE, I'm simply calling it what it appears to be...pure jealousy...when u produce a record even as clever and good as the simple and short "wedding feast"..then u are not jealous, but until then you appear juvenile and jealous knocking TRC just because it's not Prince circa 1984...Prince doesnt deny his past..but it seems You, Ernest, LIVE IN PRINCE'S PAST. TOO BAD. and furthermore, Prince eats and sleeps his music...by comparison, you only nap and nosh your music. but its all relative..right?

Why did you discover it, its best left undisturbed, you will invoke evil and unfunky spirits. Maybe they should destroy all remaining copies to stop newbies finding it. I agree totally with Ernest here.

So back on topic then. As a piece of music I think it is one of his best, No filler for me just great. I did have to edit out 'spooky electric' at the very beginning though.

yeah i agree...pure typical Prince..same juices flow from this project as any other prince project. If he were not singing JW style lyrics, (which by the way are nothing but spiritual)and if he used lyrics about dancing, sex, pussy, etc.,only, would the people who hate this album then like it?

Uggh, as a fan of The Dark Lord Of The Sith, i must object, again! he sounds nothing like Vader or James Earle Jones. If only, then TRC would be cool as fuck.

Fabulous album. Best thing since Lovesexy for me. It reawakened my interest in his music after the constant disappointments of the 90s.

It was the first time in a long time I popped the CD in and thought 'what the dangleberries is he doing now!' I had missed that feeling.

Enjoy.

It's neither trash nor treasure, to me. I like some stuff (The Sensual Everafter, The Everlasting Now, Last December). The rest of it, you can keep. shrug

yes i would!
i hate the lyrics (otan, holocaust, banished ones, she in subjection to the wise one).

example: before the truth i did not care, now i feel it everywhere.

he means: the truth = the new world translation (same 5 years later in the word: the truth has got to be told.)
but i am not flying on the wings of the new translation.

would you like erotic city or darling nikki if he used lyrics about the theoratic order or the everlasting now?

I love this album

I think musically it's the closest to Purple Music than most of his year 2000s albums, The overt JW vibe I can ignore because he's talking in so many riddles or so much of it is combined with Egyptology

I don't care for the 'Darth Vader' voice but its not all over the album and I can actually listen 2 this 1 all the way thru. I don't care for the Work though
