Prince only competes against genres on my ipod, not other artists.
Fortunately, he's brought out so much music and on many different mood levels which makes it easy to listen a lot.

Yeah, good way to put it, I think. Although I do actually select Prince songs on the regular (always making mixes for folks), when vibing on my own, there's my jazzy soul, my 70's soul, etc... and there's "Prince", lol. He's his own genre in my playlist hierarchy.

Thanks. And lol, me too. He's his own genre. cool doesn't fit in anywhere else, too unique.

Not all the time but if you did an average over the last 20 years, it's a definite yes.

Generally i drop out of it when he hasn't released a new album for some time, and jump back into the whole discography every time a new record pops-up biggrin

Right now, Its a 3 way tie between Prince, Keith Urban and Enigma.

But from 1989 to 2000... he was, without a doubt, my most listened to artist. Id say he accounted for 90% of my listening pleasure.

You OD on it then stop listening for ages. Prince is someone I always reference and then think God I have actually listened to him for ages

Do you listen to Prince more than you listen to anyone else?

I'd have to say lately my car CD time is divided between Prince (Diamonds and Pearls) or Led Zeppelin (Physical Graffiti) On the home CD, some Big Star, Minutemen, Joy Division and other stuff.

But, overall I'm certain I've listened to far more Prince than anything else in my life.

Y'all?

... I'd have to say based on a percentage that I listen to P (& The Related Artist) 90% of the time I listen to music.

I would have to say yes. He's also my favourite artist and he has so much music too, so I tend to listen to him quite often. I definitely like to mix it up though.

I know. There's a lot of Purple stuff to listen to, but my musical tastes are so splintered and broad that retro funk sometimes takes a back seat to punk, ska, 60s-70s country, new wave, rock etc.

Prince is still in my top 5 favorites, though.
