I dig Prince in many ways.

However I don't believe he's the world's greatest film director, screenwriter, website creator, religious leader, political leader, , most fashionable, most charitable, or simply the most holy person on the planet.

So, I've never joined his website, bought his books, studies his religious views ---- but I have purchased every Prince CD and have seen him countless times live and will continue to.

Around here, that seems to make me in the minority.

I really only care for the music. the other stuff can be interesting or entertaining occasionally. even the PR nightmares keep things "interesting".

If you read 4 or 5 lines about Prince you immediately get to the conclusion that you can't love the person very much.

OK...I'm battling with this one. I have been a HUGE Prince for from 1982 to present. But honestly....I have felt completely screwed over by Prince. I have spent sooooo much money on "the artist" over the years. I bought all of the cassettes....then bought all of the CDs. Went to 6 concerts...oh yeah, I bought the Cloud guitar.

Getting my youtube account suspended due to playing 1 verse of Purple Rain on my Cloud guitar....having a website that I paid a lifetime membership for...cancelled. Paying $77 dollars for a t-shirt and a decent download of 2 Prince albums and 1 album from some chick.....cancelled.

I LOVE Prince music....but I'm considering a break up. I don't like that I he put me in this position.

Sounds over dramatic...but true.

For every other rock/pop/rap/r&b/classical artist I am a fan of- I can say the same thing.
Prince is the ONLY unique character who I appreciate more than a musician... funny enough

Music first and foremost here.

Don't take prince.org as a total representative of the fan community. There's a much higher percentage of cooks and nutters than is the case in the real world.

I'm pretty much a fan of all of Bria Valente's proteges.

I'm even less I think, since while I love his music, I stopped paying attention to his lyrics around the time of 'Emancipation'.

This may be a stretch but I admire his taste in women. I also admire his work ethic and the strength of his convictions (eventhough they sometimes conflict with mine).

i like him for the fact that hes a very private person and not the "all up in the camera" type celebrity like some people are and i also respect him for the fact that hes never been to prison nor has a record and hes not on drugs hes healthy he takes care of himself to the fullest he looks really good for his age he never lets himself go like some celebs and hes still making great music keep it up Prince!

I respect him as a musician, he's cute as a person, but that's where it ends. I'm just a casual fan though I've liked him since as early as 85' 86' as one of my first memories ever along with other artists, and have about 10 of his CD's.

Definitely an admirer of the music and also his ability to be different and not follow the crowd. I also admire his faith in the unexplainable.

Movies no. I haven't seen Graffiti Bridge or SOTT and I might accidentally watch them one day, but I've never found a Prince movie interesting, even when the music is there.

I definetly love his music. And I find him pretty interesting and entertaining. I respect him for his creativity and hardwork. I want to like him as a person but I've heard so much stuff about him you just don't know what to believe. I've never been screwed over by him or his website so i have no hard feelings there. Honestly, I feel like he has good intentions but he's just a lil different and very misunderstood. So I guess I do like him, i just disagree with some of the stuff he does

I would say I'm a fan of the performer.

I dig Prince for his looks....

And he can play a mean guitar.

That's about it. It gets about as deep as a wading pool for me and Prince.

I respect him as an artist who challenges conventions, even outside of music. Like his name change. He's a very difficult personality, constantly rubbing people the wrong way, and while it's frustrating, it shows that he's still thinking.

The music, and only the music. In fact, studio bootlegs are the only thing about his music that interests me at all these days.
