Perhaps from your point of view, maybe it isn't bashing, maybe you would like them to change, maybe you expect better from people you know are capable of better. I honestly thought most on here would be happy to see it go but it's been the exact opposite. There's so much venom that truthfully should have been over and done with. I got recharged and I also got the e-mail saying it would be rectified. An inconvenience, yes. A reason to go ballistic, no. For something people have loathed for an entire year you would think they'd be singing from the rooftops that it's officially over. Instead it's like they're trying to get that last drop of blood from the stone. So, we followed the rules set up by the site to cancel and IT STILL HAPPENED. Then we get a statement blaming the billing company when we all KNEW that the site was setup to auto renew. Now a few people have been refunded, but not all and I have to believe that there will be people that don't get a refund and certainly there will be some with debit cards that incur overdraft fees and have to fight for those as well. So, I think many people may have expressed their anger in ways that were counterproductive, they still have a right to their anger and to dismiss it as one small thing or another is fairly shortsighted. It is proven time and time again the Prince rarely responds UNLESS something like this happens, so I am glad that there was some press, but unfortunately the "press" ( a blog) chose to focus solely on the most negative. I agree with this post and unless Prince can get with people who can perform up to the maximum industry standards with customer service then he needs to cease any form of direct fan interactions i.e. the internet. The problem is not with people's feelings with the blog mentioned it's with the hate period. People like yourself know that it's going to be some bullshit with Prince. So you don't fuck with him and these internet sites. You told folks one way or another not to be suckered into a trap. The bitching and moaning was expected regardless to what happened. If the site continued and people were charged it's going to be bullshit. If the site continued and people were not charged it's going to be bullshit. If Prince put a live show on the site it's going to be bullshit. The only way for it to not be bullshit with many on this site is if Prince passed on or if he retired and stopped making music. This is not a Prince.org problem this is an internet problem because it's a lot of negative energy flowing on every type of website that I visit. A real Sign O the Times. People pissed off at everything right now and the economy is the reason.
Now certain people,places,and things can be lighting rods for the attention and "we" have Prince for that purpose. Tiger Woods and other sports celebs. are catching Hell as well. I agree with with your post and you misread my post if you thought I or others are wishing to see the man dead. However the hate filled comments have been present before this mess started. It really started 12 years ago with the Crystal Ball fiasco. It got worse with the release of Rainbow Children. If Prince would have released a cd with every song hitting #1 people would have bitched,moaned,complained. If Lotus had a web link to every concert there would have been the same type of reaction.If the website would have continued on with new content people would have still bitched about something. Was the Lotus site deserving of the rage? Yes I agree. Do I call him names and cuss and kick because I gave him $77 dollars? No because I expected his bullshit and I still gave him the money. yeah the site charged people....they are getting refunds i think the org is becoming like housequake and we all know how that ended  You know what... that's a good point. What the heck is that all about anyway? seems like there is a group on the org that are out to get Prince. via teaching the crowd to follow along ...with all the negative comments. My computer was hacked, cell phone called, (that was only from going thru files on my computer ...no other way to get that very new number) a relatives house phone called. These were people that are still hangin out on the org. I guess they were trying to drive off new fans. I dont know. But someof them tried to make it look like Prince was behind all that. I stopped posting for a while.. cuz I thought at first ... Prince himself was asking me to. I was actually told by that person that he/she whoever was Prince....when I asked who I was talking to. Then I realized, that wasn't him. I went back and check the old org notes they were still there at that time.. and realized I'd been played. I did however, sign up for his various websites, strictly BECAUSE of HIM and HE is the VERY reason that I nor anyone else including you, can no longer log onto ANY of them! It is not MY nor anyone on else at prince.org's fault there is not a happy purple internet place, where it's all Paisley and Incense for those that want that! So it's not US you're really upset with. But, when you say 'new fans need education', I think you're wrong in the way you mean it. Way back in the Crystal Ball days, I hadn't heard the majority of the songs before. I was THRILLED to finally hear Days of Wild and all the other highly talked about songs. Well, so many of the people that had those songs previously, bitched and moaned about how they already had them on boots, ahted some of the versions released, blahblahbha, and it totally changed my excited mood when I went online to talk about it. One person, who spewed a bunch of crap (this is all aside of the ordering/delivery problems...), realized what a downer it was to everyone else who was NEW to the music and enjoying it. He apologized and said he hadn't really thought about it that way. Why poison someone else's experience with your blatantly negatively biased opinions? It's like some people take joy in bringing others down. There is something to the saying 'if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all'. It not only affects the person you're speaking about, but can negatively affect others too. A little distance is good sometimes...with Prince I think it's essential. I don't want to know all the crap he does, I just want to hear awesome music! | |

It's like some people take joy in bringing others down. There is something to the saying 'if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all'. It not only affects the person you're speaking about, but can negatively affect others too. A little distance is good sometimes...with Prince I think it's essential. I don't want to know all the crap he does, I just want to hear awesome music! I do appreciate your sentiments
