An officially released candid photo dissected...

A - Tell-tale sign of Photoshop masking: Jagged line where the sunglasses meet the cheek and his jawline meets his neck. This happens when the Photoshop artist forgot to feather these areas while airbrushing out whatever imaginary imperfections Prince asked to be removed.

B - Botched retouching again. Jaggies and obvious repeated tones from other areas of the photo.

While I can certainly understand and see why official promotional materials and album artwork would be retouched to help sell that particular merchandise (see Whitney Houston's latest CD cover for an illustration as to why retouching would not have been a bad idea), the manipulation of candid shots is nothing short of a very perceivable insecurity.

years ago I was flipping through a magazine like Redbook or Good Housekeeping and they had Wynonna Judd on the cover all air brushed and perfect. Unfortunately inside there was another pic, not related to the article that was not treated and it was hilarious. I got to see just how extensive the airbrushing was. I wish I kept those pics but it was not my mag.
I just hope that people my age, 48, do not compare themselves to middle aged celebrities. Unless the pic was taken by the paparazzi it is most likely airbrushed to hell and back again.
The silly thing is that when fans see the celebrities in real life the must go "holy shit!!!" It's an automatic disapointment.

I've met him last year and he looks like he would be in his late thirties (with the make-up and all).
He looks more manly than ever, and has gained in maturity. His sex appeal is made of charm, playfullness and self-confidence, all of which cannot be captured by photos (or only partially). Just something about the way he moves...
I suppose the photoshop manipulation is just something you have to do nowadays, to meet the standards of public expectations in international showbusiness (totally irrealistic, but that's just part of the sign?o the time).

Looking good is not related to age.It depends a lot about how you feel, and how much you love yourself, which make you glow and vibrate with positive energy.
So, in that regard, Ernest is right: the title of this thread is biased... and the topic is senseless. But hey, let sum it up and say that yes, after 51 years on planet earth, going through extrem pain & joy experiences, Prince still radiates like the star he is.

I had a picture of Prince in a un retouched photograph. It was in an Entertainment weekly mag. By this artist that took many celebrity photos and didn't retouch them. Prince's face has aged, he is handsome but he has just as many lines in his face as Harrison Ford does.

Prince to me would look better if he'd let some gray show and toned down on the make-up big time because his foundation exaggerates the lines in his face now and he needs to NOT use it so much. Maybe switch to a loose powder and go for a more rugged look (like Sean Connery)
