Is 21 Nights worth keeping? (Your thoughts on 21 Nights)

I just picked up 21 nights here at a local shop and was curious, if it was worth keeping? I'm thinking of exchanging it (It was kinda expensive) but was curious if the book was something casual fans would enjoy, or if it was more for people that were diehard P fans.

Please let me know thoughts about 21 nights.

It's not interesting after the 1st look, but if you're a collector, its worth it. What did U pay, may I ask?

it's not very exciting, but it comes with the cd and it's worth keeping
for that alone imo.

not sure what a casual fan would make of it. the idea of it all is very
cool but the result ended up being so many glossy shots and hotelrooms,
and so little of his actual on stage performances at the O2. i would've
loved to see far more of that. prince playing guitar or rehearsing with
the band etc.

Make your own decision.

And unless you're outside the US, the book is about $5 at Borders and Barnes & Noble.

The book is pretty disapointing IMO. Stylised photography isn't really my thing. I would have preferred more candid live shots, but hey, that's just me. The CD's cool for what it is though. As a long time fan, it's a keeper, but it's not something I'd buy from other artists whom I merely have a casual interest in.

I say sure, because Prince items are going out of print like last season's prada.

So eventually it'll either be worthless or worth alot depending on how the wind blows.

The book was a silly vanity piece, and the CD was boring. But I don't think Prince was aiming at any audience other than a completist fan audience.

This book is so bad, that even diehard Prince fans won't want to hold on to it, all it is some silly photos of him messing about with some bimboes in a hotel room and most of the photos feature Prince. Its a big lovenote to himself. Yawn
So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

Even diehard fans wont want to hold on to it?.....Though its not a great book, i want to hold on to my copy.
All it is is silly photos of him with bimbo's in a hotel room?.....There are maybe a handful of pictures with him and the twins in a hotel room.
And most of the photos feature Prince?.....Who did you want them to feature....Michael Jackson?
It is a PRINCE book.

I say keep it as well. I was disappointed with it, but to me it's part of the "collection." I was shocked my boyfriend bought it for $4.99 at Border's too. Mine was a gift, but was bought for the original retail price nearing $40.

You people keep saying the book was "disappointing". What the hell did you think it was going to be? A sequel to War & Peace? Some lost dead sea scrolls? The Ten Commandments written by the hand of God? Of course it's a big picture book. It's a coffee table book, and those type of books are always for reading on a rainy day.

Thats a bit of an over exaggeration response about others opinion and ppl are very entitled to there opinions. we dont all say yes about everything Prince has done. And i dont see much 'disppointment' here anyway, so dont see what your moaning about.

And IMO i think the book is way over photoshopped and the pics are not very artistic, just pics of him stuck in the hotel, the cd is boring, the boots are far better despite there bad recordings and just basically the book could of been much better.

I love the book and unlike most folks I appreciate Prince taking the time to give it to those of us who didn't get to experience the O2 arena live-I love it and I also love Indigo Nights. Beggin Woman is great, Misty Blue is superb and I love All The Critics Love U In London. The Book is worth keeping wink

I've seen several people post this in other threads. Damn, where y'all live? I've yet to see it at ANY book/music store for less than $20. My local Best Buy still has it at its regular price ($50?).

As a document of the 21 Nights at the O2 it is way off the mark.
As a book of pretty princely pictures it hits the mark.
It is not great, but it is by no means a bad book.
Despite varying opinions about the cd, i think the music contained is excellent.
If you consider yourself a Prince fan then it is a good thing to have.
If you consider yourself a casual fan.....buy an album instead?

It's all over. A friend bought a copy in more recent weeks for that price, and I saw it weeks before that for $4.99. There are stacks of them at Borders, and a few at Barnes & Noble. She ended up sending me one. I already had it, so I have one to look at and one for keepsake.

honestly?...something akin to a mammoth tour book/programme, something that chronicled his 21 Nights. There are a couple of nice photos of him but the majority is made up of Luton Airport (which Randee...not Prince used) and interior shots of the Dorchester..very few near the o2 even fewer inside a fewer still of the gigs.
