All hail the mighty T!

For those of you who were around during the heyday of alt.music.prince (affectionately referred to as "amp"), I'm sure you remember the mysterious T. He put together amazing comps, digitized a ton of vinyl, and was the Prince fan's best friend.

I'm sitting here listening to the 12" Archive right now, and it hit me how much awesome Prince music I've accumulated since 1995 due to T.

I'm sure this has been hashed to death on these boards, but I did a search and nothing came up, so I have to ask:

Anyone know what happened to T? Did he just "retire"?

Giggity!

T did me up in a biggg way. Props to him. He had an ego as big as Prince's but still. I was rockin to 12'' archives set way before any official release. And so many vid treats such as the actual Mn Awards where he talks about the Dream Factory and St Paul in the acceptance speech, the perfect version of The Warehouse rehearsal (bd version hehe) and so mucvh more. Godspeed T even though that motherfucker took my Vault:OF4S promo lol.

I remember those days. You would have thought that he was the motherfucker making all that music the way he carried on.

I'm not sure what happened to Tim. I think he's still around - Atlanta, maybe - but I'm not sure.

He used to show up on Housequake from time to time. Dish out some really interesting info and then get bombarded by people saying 'release everything, blah blah...'

Think he got bored of it and showed up less and less.
blah blah blah

Wow, I was just recently thinking of T!! He was great...always had cool stories and info.

I saw him at the 2002 Celebration but since then he seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth.

I really appreciate the 12" archive, I have the vinyl but I did appreciate the careful de-clicking and transcription.
I still posit that 8 years after its "release" it is the best sounding and leaves Rhino in the shade lol
His last post on these boards was 10/22/07 , I hope he is OK cool

T's sets were always top notched! Always enjoyed them and the vids i got from him. He is responsible for the great quality for a lot of outtakes/demos we enjoy and take for granted. I know he's doing well...

T was great. Hooked me up with a bunch of CDR copies of some associated artists albums that were completely unavailable to me in those days. And always had great info.

And he said he was gonna fuck me at the 2002 Celebration. Big talker rolleyes lol

for real. I remember the site he had with a bunch of floating "t's" where some had links to songs. I think most of the unreleased stuff I have came from him.

I always wonder if T was Prince in disguise? I mean ive heard that the 12 archive collection looks like an official release with factory pressed discs etc, i can imagine alot of ppl brought them and i wonder if prince did it slyly...so warners couldnt have a slice of the pie?...or 2 create more of a mythos and mystery about himself? wooooo nah just kidding stoned

Well I've seen Prince and T within 200 feet of each other at a Paisley Park concert... and they are NOT friendly to each other. Prince's people took him outside and accused him of recording the show and they were shouting at each other. But T is cool, knows a lot, and has a lot of non-circulating stuff.
