Am I the only one who really loves Prince in the HERE & NOW? It seems like everytime I turn around, someone is whining about "How great P USED to be" They miss when he was doin this or wearing that or when he was married to....etc. I don't know how he feels personally but It would bring me down because who wants to be reminded of their past when they're always tryin to go forward? I'm so grateful that Prince hasn't givin up lol I'm so glad he's still puttin music out for us and I STILL get excited when I hear about the release of a new album or song or whatever. Still on that fan level. Feel me. Maybe because I'm artist but I'm grateful because there's not too many REAL & DEEP artists like him anymore. Its kinda sad. But We got prince (:

No, you're not the only one who likes Prince here and now. There's as many on here that are positive about everything Prince does as there are those who love his old stuff, and are disappointed with his new stuff.

The problem is the one lot tend to get over protective and personally abusive, which makes the other lot take the piss even more because they know they can't help but get wound up.

Threads like this (that I'm presuming was started honestly and not to stir up trouble) get swamped with snide comments from both sides. and before you know it, it's' "Fams vs Haters" all over again.

I love Prince's recent music! Of course it's not as "good" as the stuff he's done in the past because it's impossible for him to get to such a creative peak after having written so many songs. An innovator can only innovate for so long! I think people would appreciate his recent music more if they stop expecting another groundbreaking album... a 51 year old is never a groundbreaker!

What facts do you have to prove there is/was a "dip in quality"? You don't have any. Really the "dip in quality" is simply your opinion. Popular as that view might be around prince.org, it's not a fact. Just a popular opinion.

It's a matter of perception. If someone thinks that the 30th piece of chocolate cake is just as delicious as their 1st piece, hey good for them.



Reread your original statement (the underlined part). What you are basically saying is that some people refuse to agree with your opinion. When you force your opinion on people, they might get nasty.

Again, if someone loves Lotusflow3r as much as Lovesexy, who are you to say that they are wrong? And vice versa....

The silent majority still love Prince, but the nay-sayers seems 2 have a louder voice because a lot of them are willing 2 post their "opinions" more.

It would be great if people could post their opinions without the nastiness but it seems that is not the case. Hopefully Prince continue 2 do his thang.....unaffected.
