bit slow i know, but i'd given up hope... what a pleasant surprise! .. really like this album...seems prince has grown up... bit less of his "i only want you to have some fun" voice would have been nice, but...still this is some cool shit...it's growin' on me with each listen

about time but the album is the "ish"

I also thought at first that removing the slowed down narration from TRC would improve the album, but the more I thought about it, the more I felt that it would actually detract from the story being told... I mean taking the voice over out of THE RAINBOW CHILDREN (the first song) almost turns it into an instrumental piece. Sure it takes a bit of getting used to, but I guarantee you this: TRC is going to age so much better than say RAVE that it ain't even funny -- and I just picked RAVE at random, I could have almost substituted any title from Prince's catalog in its place. This is a really strong piece of work!

It really does take a few listens to get into it,but it's WELL worth it!!
I say its his strongest work since Gold Experience, my mate says its a self-indulgent piece of shit.
Stick with it-it's going to age well.

I can only tolerate 4 songs on the TRC. Yes, do get rid of the scary voice. It ruins the whole thing.

I think the scary voice fits well with the title track TRC, but I agree, should of been dropped for the rest of the album.Apart from that I think TRC is pretty damn good album.
