Has anybody ever bust into tears at a Prince concert?

I was just curious because Prince is such an emotional singer that it would be hard not to feel something? I know if I was fortunate to attend a concert I'd probably at some point during the show start balling from witnessing such a magnificent performer. So, have you ever lost it at a Prince concert or have known anybody to blubbler like a baby for "His Royal Badness"?

Okay I'll be the first to comment. lol I never busted into tears and blubbered like a baby, but I did get tears in my eyes when Wendy walked out on stage for the opening song Purple Rain when Prince played the Target Center on 7/7/07. I had been waiting 23 years for that!!!

I've gotten teary-eyed at a few Prince shows - especially ones that happened in the middle of the night (like the 3121 shows in Vegas).

Genesia gets weepy when she's sleepy. lol

Yeah... I'll admit.. when he came out and started playing Purple Rain at the 7/7/7 show in MPLS, I wept throughout the whole song.

I don't even like that song.

The first time I ever heard Prince do my favorite song, Joy in Repetition, I was at Paisley Park with some people I really, really love. That was an amazing moment.

I also cried in Vegas when he did Empty Room and Beautiful Strange.

At the Lovesexy concert for Anna Stesia. When the piano rose out of the stage and the first few notes played, I felt them in my soul - it was the perfect example of what people call "haunting". I can still see, hear and feel that moment. I believe it was followed by Glam Slam - another supreme experience "It must be a dream it's so magical". BTW, this is not off topic - I cried through both.

I've only seen Prince live on his lovesexy tour and I was too awestruck to cry, however I have "lost it" during certain performances either on video or television.
1. Purple Rain (1985 Syracuse video)
2. Reflections performance with Wendy (Tavis Smiley)
3. The entire Superbowl performance (2007)
4. When he performed the cover of "Creep" at Coachella (2008)

Probably a few others, but the latter ones were special because Prince still has it and still shares it. touched

Prince has been such a huge inspiration to me for so long. I come so close to seeing him live on several occasions, but something always seem to come up.
But FINALLY in 2001 I got to see him for the first time. After trying and trying to see him since 1989, I was finally standing in the Cricket Arena waiting on him. They were blasting out his tracks over the sound system. Everything from Soft and Wet, to P Control. It was like one huge dance club! Ive never seen anything like it. Usually when waiting on the perfomer to hit the stage, everyone is just sitting there talking, or getting drunk and acting stupid. But this was an entirely different atmosphere. Looking over the dancing crowd you could see an ocean of purple. I was even sporting my Purple trench coat. People were talking to me like they knew me for years! Like I said, it was like 10,000 people in a "Prince" nightclub. The concert was scheduled to start at 9 pm. It was already 9:30, but noone cared! We knew he would be there, and thats all that mattered. Until then we were gonna party!
Then around 9:40, the music just stopped and the lights went out. The place errupted! It was continuous screaming for about 3 or 4 minutes. The backdrop of the stage illuminated with what seemed to be a rippling water effect...
then it started quieting down. And just as the volume of the screams started to subside.....
You could see a silhouette appear..walking up from the back of the stage...The place errupted again, this time even louder than the first. The shadowy figure walks right up to the microphone stand, and stops. Then a spot light hits, and there he was. His Royal Baddness! My idol, my musical inspiration. The guy whos music had helped me through the most trying times of my life... Prince.
And there they were....tears in my eyes. The rest is a memory of the most incredible concert Ive ever witnessed in person.

As a bday gift my friend bought us 3-day tickets for Coachella before we knew Prince was on board. I cried at work when he told me over the phone that not only will Prince be playing there, he was gonna perform on my 21st bday! I didn't believe him so he came to my job to prove it with an article his mom found. So, we get kinda close to the stage and as soon as the lights hit I cried & missed the 1st 3 minutes. People were looking at me weird 'cause all of a sudden I burst in tears. My friend is telling them "Oh, don't worry, shes ok, shes just a huge Prince fan" I cried again when he played "Controversy". That song is very close to me like my own skin. Good times!!

I've never just BUSTED into tears; however, every show I've been to...when he first walks out onto the stage- I do get emotional...all the energy - so many dif feelings going on at the same time and I am still in awe of him. He's the only musician that gets that outta me.

I cried when I heard him do "Sometimes it snows in April" when I saw him in Cleveland during the Musicology tour. I wasn't expecting him to play my favorite song because it was billed as being his hits. The song reminds me of my friend Glen who died on his 21st birthday in 1992. I even named my son after Glen, so the song means so much to me. To see it live when it wasn't expected was too much for me to hold the tears back.
