One Nite Alone

In a pale blue spotlight
A figure spins around and the voice calls out 2 U:
"Baby, do U like the sound?"
The undulating acrobat ready 2 do your bidding says:
"Come, U must let me dress U
But first, I must do a fitting"
Do U like it fast?
Do U like it slow?
I know it's better if we make it up as we go
And oh, by the way, tell me now, what's your name?
I'll let it sweeten my tongue just once
And never speak it again
Since this is our little secret
Just once and never speak it again
This is our little secret

Untarnished memory in a pale blue spotlight
Oh, let me hear U scream
If U're ready 4 one nite alone...
With me

Objects In The Mirror

That's my favorite time with U
Just after we make a movie
The kind that requires the title:
"Parental Advisory"

Let's brush our teeth in the same sink
Don't worry girl, it's cool
We can pose in the mirror
I'm diggin' U diggin' on me, yeah, an' me diggin' on U

We hooked up now, I can try her
I can put my load in the dryer
So much we can share
The same height, weight and body fluid
We've hooked up now, we can do it

I've been waitin' baby (I've been waitin', been waitin')
But it's so hard 2 bear
But the objects in the mirror (But the objects in the mirror)
The objects in the mirror (The objects in the mirror)
Are closer, closer, closer than they appear

Every time I watch the other people news
I see a false picture of myself, another one of U (Yeah)
They try 2 tell us what we want, what 2 believe (Mirror)
Didn't that happen in the Garden when somebody spoke to Eve?

But I'm willing, now - willing 2 do the work
Said I'm willing 2 do what I gotta do
I'm willing - willing 2 do the work
Tell me, tell me, now - say what about U?

Looky, looky now
Look around and tell me (tell me) your sun is risen
When your brothers and sisters are in the fall (Fall)
People, tell me what is left 2 give (nothin') when our work is done?
What do we own besides the right 2 crawl?

See, we're living in a system that the devil designed (Think we ain't?)
And suffering from this devil's most heinous crime
He's tried 2 keep us from, listen, (go tell it) the reason that we were born
That is 2 be the living truth in human form

But U see I'm willing - willing 2 do the work
And 2 do - do what I gotta do
People I'm willing - willing 2 do the work
Tell me now, tell me now, tell me now - what about U? (Tell 'em about it, oh!)

Willing 2 do the work {x4}
(Are U willing?) {x2}
(Are U willing now?)

This work, this work is not an easy task
But this is the work we must do 4 Revelation 2 come 2 pass
This work, this work is the kind that turns your back on the ruling class (Work it)
By putting them in they place just like the past, look out

Willing - willing 2 do the work {x6}

Nothing can stop us
Whatever's in our way
We got 2 go through it 2 get 2 it
I heard somebody say

That they're willing (oh yeah) - willing 2 do the work
Willing 2 do what I gotta do
People tell me, I'm willing - willing 2 do the work (Yeah)
Can't hear ya - what about U? (Turn around)
Willing 2 do, willing 2 do the work
Thank U

"From all over the people came 2 do The Work.
And with every phase of the deconstruction
the Everlasting Now became evermore the reality.
Everywhere the people were witnessing a change
But the alchemy occurred most in the muse".

Young And Beautiful

So young'n'beautiful
So young'n'beautiful

U're so young and beautiful
U're so full of life, everybody knows
That's why they try 2 take advantage of U
But U don't have 2 do what the others do

U're so cool, the world at your feet (Wee-ooh)
They only want your virginity
Keep your clothes on, your chastity
Until U find the one that's worth it, baby

So young and beautiful
U're so young and beautiful

U're so fine my heart's just poundin'
If I had the chance 2 lay U down
I'd probably take a rain check till next summer
Cuz I don't wanna be like all your other lovers

Wee-ooh
Young and beautiful
Young and beautiful

U're so young and beautiful
I'm hippin' U 2 the game, darlin'
So that U'll always remain
Young and beautiful
Young and beautiful
Aw yeah

The Brainblow Chitlins, hmm, 3 stars. Too preachy, too hateful.

The piano album is good but middling. No great piano playing. Prince should have mauled here like he did with the Truth. 3 stars

The tour was good. The live cd should have been ten cds, cheaper price with a few dvds.
All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

Internet track rel 2002

Madrid 2 Chicago:A new album was announced for 2001. The title track and "Breathe" were distributed via the NPG Music Club, but the full album remains unreleased.

Madrid 2 Chicago

Madrid 2 Chicago
Nothing but U on the mind
Bills 2 pay, my hairdresser's gay
And the present proves there's no time (Time)

3 pillow couch in a dark brown shade
Another misinterpretation and I still got it made (Made)
How am I gonna make this connection when I-I got nothing but U?
(Nothing but eatin' that pussy)

I got U on my mind, U on my mind
Madrid 2 Chicago
I got U on my mind, U on my mind
Nothing but U on my mind (Hey)

Transfer a million dollars 2 gold
The opposite of ivory color of your thighs
Is molded into my mind
Like the secret code of Egypt
And I love U, said I love U, I love U, I love U
Madrid 2 Chicago
And there's nothing but U on my mind (Mind)
U, baby

Madrid 2 Chicago
U on my mind
Madrid 2 Chicago
Got U on my mind
Madrid 2 Chicago
U, U

(Da da, da da, da da, da da)
U, oh, oh, U on my mind (Madrid 2 Chicago, Madrid 2 Chicago)
Got U on the mind (Madrid 2 Chicago, Madrid 2 Chicago)
Oh, I can't stop thinking about U baby

Madrid 2 Chicago
(Madrid 2 Chicago, Madrid 2 Chicago)
U, U, U, U, U
(Madrid 2 Chicago, Madrid 2 Chicago)
Oh, nothing, nothing but U on my mind, yah (U on my mind, on my mind)
Ooh, oh yes, as soon as I see U baby
I'm gonna put my tongue right there, ooh
Please fasten your seatbelts
We're making our final approach in...

Ahh the Rainbow Children period...

I still have mixed feelings about TRC. The music side of it.. I thought "finally he's exploring again!" and I was excited. But I don't like being preached to. especially when the preacher sounds confused or at least confusing. One of my favorite love songs of his ever came off that album though.. "She Loves me For Me". He had a tight sounding band.

I forget the order they came out, but the One Night Alone piano album was very nice. It was simple. Sometimes simple gets the job done. "When others shout, you must learn to whisper.."

The live ONA.. I have mixed feelings mainly for one reason. "Xenophobia". The "leader or follower" bit. I can picture the look on some fan's face. What an asshole way to preach to someone and try to make them look stupid. I seriously doubt that person is still a fan these days. That was mean. Musically the rest of it.. the band was great.. he was in great form.. I hate snippet runthroughs though. Why tease us with "Condition of the Heart" when I literally can't even identify where in that track it is supposed to be. Same goes for the Aftershow disc. 10 minutes of jam and one line or two from Alphabet Street.. I'm thinking "oooh this is a 10 minute alphabet street" when I got it. Let down!!

The jazz albums.. NEWS/Xpectation/C-Note.. while I havent heard any of them more than 3 or 4 times and dont recall the melodies to remember certain tracks, I did like them and thought they were worth hearing. At least it was different. He was going down a new musical road and at least that was exciting, and he had a top notch band to experiment with.

But it was all bittersweet. Seeing what the JW preachings were doing to him soo rapidly became very hard to watch. One thing I always took from Prince's earlier music was that individuality was a good thing.. that love is god.. god is love...former rules don't apply..live for love..and may u live 2 see the dawn. Not women shall be subject to man and they subject to the one true god and all others shall be banished" That doesn't gel with me.

I attended my first concert EVER (not just my first Prince concert, but my first concert, period) at the Paramount Theater in Seattle on 29 April 2002. Got into the soundcheck as an NPGMC member, and took my sister (the person who got me into Prince at age 3) as my guest. We were in the front row, but it was at the opposite side of the theater from everyone else, since there was only one designated spot for my wheelchair.

I remember Prince and the band launching into "Peach" straight away, and I remember the surprise on my sister's face because it was so LOUD and we were right next to the speakers, so our hair was blowing around and our bodies were vibrating from being bombarded with sound waves! lol I was just in awe...

Great memories! I just wish that show had been recorded. mad I'd pay money to hear it again.

Prince - Live at the Aladdin Las Vegas (2003)

Prince live performances are the stuff of which legends are made--and the first official DVD from his own NPG Music Club, Prince Live At The Aladdin Las Vegas (NPG Music Club/Hip-O Records), released August 19, 2003, is no exception. Recorded December 15, 2002, during the Las Vegas stop on his most recent tour, the approximately 80-minute Prince Live At The Aladdin Las Vegas brings the Prince experience home.

The concert headlining Prince and the NPG (New Power Generation) also features special guests Nikka Costa, Maceo Parker and Sheila E. With Parker on sax and long-time Prince compatriot Sheila E. on percussion, Prince is backed by a band of bassist Rhonda Smith, keyboardist Renato Neto, trombonist Greg Boyer, saxman Eric Leeds and drummer John Blackwell. Brilliant musician, charismatic performer and one of pop's most influential figures, Prince takes his blazing guitar in hand and rocks the house for several thousand fans.

Delving into his classic '80s era, the party is on as he performs full-blown renditions of "Gotta Broken (Heart) Again" (originally heard on 1980's Dirty Mind), "Take Me With U" (from 1984's Purple Rain), "Pop Life" (from 1985's Around The World In A Day), "Sometimes It Snows In April" (from 1986's Parade, which was also the soundtrack to Under The Cherry Moon), "Strange Relationship" (from 1987's Sign O' The Times) and a brief "Money Don't Matter 2 Night" (from 1991's Diamonds And Pearls) segues into "The Work" (from The Rainbow Children). "1+1+1=3" includes the Ohio Players' masterpiece "Love Rollercoaster" and Prince's own "Housequake" (from Sign O' The Times). An excerpt from a yet-to-be-released song, "U Want Me," is attached to another Diamonds And Pearls track, "Strollin'."

Three more recent recordings get the Princely treatment as well: "Family Name" and "The Everlasting Now" from 2001's The Rainbow Children, and a bonus clip of "The Ride" from 1998's Crystal Ball. In addition, Costa joins him on "Push And Pull" from her 2001 U.S. debut Everybody Got Their Something. Prince and crew also cover "Pass The Peas," the vintage number from The JB's, James Brown's backing band which included Parker, and Led Zeppelin's psychedelic rocker "Whole Lotta Love."

Prince Live At The Aladdin Las Vegas follows the June release via the NPG Music Club of his latest album, N.E.W.S., which contains only four songs, "North," "East," "West" and "South," each clocking in at 14 minutes. N.E.W.S. is Prince's first album of new material since The Rainbow Children, another concept album originally released through his npgmusicclub.com Web site.

I was there . I had no idea that this concert was being made into a DVD. It was very Jazzy and Mello compared to some of the others i had been to .
Pray Daily!!!!! RIP AMY WINEHOUSE Keep Calm, Carry on
