What if Glee did Prince?

Check this out:
http://www.gleetastic.com...did-prince

With the all-Madonna episode of Glee becoming such a massive hit that it's already spawning a sequel, it's clear that us Gleeks can't get enough of artist-centric episodes! And while the upcoming Lady Gaga episode will be great (even though it's only going to feature a couple of songs), it seems like Glee has a chance to do this with plenty of other icons. We've already suggested a Janet Jackson episode (Ryan Murphy, make it happen!), and now we'd like to suggest another one. How about Prince? Come on, everyone loves the Purple One! Here's our wishlist of Prince songs and performances.

"1999"
This is usually the type of rock-heavy song that Glee gives to Finn, but, honestly, he seems better suited to power ballads ("I Can't Fight This Feeling"). So how about letting bad boy Puck take a crack at "1999"? Get him a purple jumpsuit and go nuts!

"Little Red Corvette"
With Mr. Schuester now single and turning into a total player, a song like "Little Red Corvette" (about a one-night stand) feels perfect for him! Maybe bring back Kristin Chenowith as the "Little Red Corvette" of the title and let them duet, à la "Alone."

"When Doves Cry"
One of the best parts of the all-Madonna episode? Kurt and Mercedes! If they can make a duet of "4 Minutes" sound ridiculously awesome, imagine what they can do with "When Doves Cry."

"Purple Rain"
Remember what we said about Finn and power ballads? Get that man an umbrella!

"Let's Go Crazy"
A song that just screams, "Get the entire cast together for a Converse-wearing auditorium performance, complete with the school band!" We've got our episode closer.

Ok you can all save the "it will never happen" comments. i know.

however, it might just be a brilliant idea to make prince more mainstream. look what it did to madonna's music sales on itunes.

discuss.

(plus it could help with his supposed ~financial issues~)

In case you were wondering, that's a giant shit monster.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

this is how prince glee should be, it's got to be in keeping to the same formula, so you have to fulfill all the stereotypes, thus a dance sequence, a rip of a video, a mashup or medley and a duet, all in 40 minutes once ads and credits etc are removed, you need to have a story narrative and dialogue, and remember that you can only have about 6 full tracks per episode, for royalty reasons

the opening of the show starts with the doors to principal figgins office being opened...

there are roses on the floor, white doves and a bath, and out of the bath is a nake principal figgins in a scene by scene copy of the when doves cry video, but of course there has to be a bmx bike replacing the honda

so who opened the door in the first place? how does the story progress?

who cares, so let's jump to a cherios scene where they perform to 1999 with marching band, and that's the second important part of the glee by numbers episode. we can let noah front this song with quinn and ken covering the vocal parts of lisa and brown mark

nextup is kiss, with arty taking the role of prince and tina playing the dancer. this can take place on the stage. oh, the hilarity as the guy in the wheelchair thinks he wanna dance now

next song is manic monday, with emma rushing to get to school on time

cory and rachel can duet on nothing compares 2 u. they can sing this after they have broken up

mercedes and kurt can do a medley of i feel 4 u that goes into baby i'm a star, on stage with full cast doing a big dance number

and schuster can sing purple rain after finding out that emma is upset after sleeping with him, and he is trying to be cool the next day at school (and that's why she is rushing to work singing manic monday earlier)

and as a finale we need sue sylvester to sing sexy mf. how fucking funny would that be?

and there you go. best. episode. never. cuz prince would sue them for evening thinking about using one of his songs. even though they don't need to use his permission for anything. now there's an idea...

we also need an alternate dvd box set secret hidden extras version that is x rated

with arty singing pussy control and tina playing the part of mayte

and noah and quinn doing erotic city

a full cast mtv awards inspired version of gett off with coach ken playing the part of prince with assless pants, trying to win back emma. and quinn and santana can play diamond and pearl

kurt can do days of wild

schuster can do darlin nikki to his wife terri

sue sylvester can do g spot

and mercedes and rachel can do sugar walls

I'd never seen it. Everyone kept telling me how great it was. But I don't watch much television, so I hadn't bothered. Then I got a call right before the Madonna one came on telling me I should tune in.

So I did.

I love Madonna. I love Jane Lynch. But I hated this show. And I think it made me like Madonna and Jane Lynch less actually. lol

I must be the only queer in the world that doesn't get any glee out of Glee.

i understand when people say they don't like the show. it is RIDICULOUS. very high school musical-esque. like one minute they break out into song in the choir room and then BAM! they are in the auditorium with full lights singing away.

it's supposed to be campy. maybe give it another try smile

that's pretty much the M.O. of any musical, and I don't mind it. I thought the show had potential. But its reach far excedes its grasp.

Better writers and actors might help. They've got some great actors in the mix, but overall, I thought the show was pretty weak and uninspired compared to the premise.

I once knew a girl named Glee.

If Glee did Prince, she wouldn't be the only one.

glee is a parody of high school musical, with stereotypical losers as the main characters, instead of stereotypical all american teens such as in high school musical. each show includes about a half dozen or so songs sung by a cast that is autotuned to within inches of their life. any more unnatural and they would sound like daleks

Watched this last night for the first time, the autotuning is way over the top - wow!!

By the way, Matthew Morrison agrees with you all:

http://www.digitalspy.co....hemes.html

"I don't know if I want the show to go into, 'Let's do a theme of this person and this person', because I feel like it would lose the specialness of the show," he said. "But if we were to do one I would love to do a Prince episode or something, that would be awesome."

Hmmm...

I kinda have a love/hate feeling about the idea.

It would be pretty awesome especially if they did more "obscure" songs. but on the other hand, my standards would be high and there's a chance of it being cheesy. shrug

of COURSE it would be cheesy. that's the whole point of glee. and i'm sure most prince fans wouldn't like it and it wouldn't live up to our standards. i still think it would be fun smile

Glee is hilarious w/ it's exagerated stereotypes! I would like to think that P could watch Glee and laugh his butt off at the complete over the top mockery of high school and all its drama, characters, and limitations; but wether he would want to be associated w/ the show... I don't know?

It made sense for Sue Silvester to have an infatuation w/ Madonna. I don't know how they would work in an entire Prince episode. I would enjoy it, but I don't see any of the characters driving a Prince show like the Silvester character did w/ Madonna.

well, as per my earlier post on the subject...

sue fucked over figgins by roophying him and taking photos of him in bed with sue, and that's partly how she got away with playing the madonna cds in the school. so figgins finds some way to get the photos back and can let himself go again, and it turns out that he is a closet prince fan and he plays prince the school to counterbalance sue's madonna playing, and show sue that he's the boss. but the opening sequence is him acting out the video of when doves cry
