Cause & Effect, 1 week later

Mods, I know you're going to lock this immediately, but maybe give it a chance?

Ok, I suggested in the thread before the release that we should wait a week to let it settle and then write our responses. I admit that I couldn't resist responding in the impulse thread, but it could be interesting to see if more measured responses are different.

I have no problem with people saying they've let it sit, listened again and still hate it but, please - if you have only listened once and have already responded in the other thread, let it go....

As for me: I gotta admit, I was lukewarm and mainly disappointed at first and then did feel that it was growing. i haven't listened to it for close to a week and I definitely felt it more this time (watching the youtube vids of Chris Coleman added to my enthusiasm!).

So what's your more measured response?

I don't hate it, but it doesn't excite or thrill me, either.

I still think the vocal melody & lyrics could have been more thought out, other than that I still think it's a fun song. A little immature, almost nursey rhyme-like, can be cheesy at times too... but it's far from rubbish! Can't say I'll have it on repeat & be singing it to myself all day but I like it. smile

Yeah, know what you mean. I understand those who felt it was all over the palce and a mish-mash, but that also makes it a bit intriguing. Initially, the guitar solos made me sit throught the first half, which i wasn't crazy about, but now I find different things jumping out at me, although there are others which still don't do it for me...

It's still overprocessed, and what a waste of some killer drumming.
It's like he is showing out in the studio,

bass, drums and guitar nd you probably have a pretty killer song as a whole

parts are good, as a whole it's like united states of division, turn me loose, etc etc
