The end of "Back To The Lotus" What is that man screaming at the end of the track?
I finally listened to this track without interruption and silence and I SWEAR...about the last 10 fifteen seconds while Prince is talking or something..whatever he was doing, some dude in the background says, "he's done!" Followed by two other shouts of something else...not sure if it was just musician noise or whatever however I think it has even made it better...finding out little things like that in Prince's music is what MAKES his music so intriguing. Anyone else heard it? Hope this is not old news.... Straight Jacket Funk Affair

It has been spotted before. Some of the previously untranscribed background interjections were raised in relatively recent thread that got locked / hidden by the mods. I'm pretty sure the locking had nothing to do with the subject matter or it being a duplicate thread. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

is it that man that prince kept locked in a box in his studio in the mid 80s? he could be heard screaming in "housequake" and "a place in heaven"

It clearly sounds like either an engineer or a band member, based on the proximity of the voice 2 the mic it was captured with.
My take is that they R saying something 2 the effect of: "OK, that's enough. We got it...", and Prince keeps it rolling. I LOVE this. "He's a musician's musician..."

Prince once again puts something in the mix secretive.....I really do like Lotus Flow3r alot more than Mplsound now and days. It took me a while because I wanted the FUNK first beofre tyring to get all deep and stuff like with some tracks on Lotus however. I only wished he had kept Love Like Jazz for another album because it does not fit anywhere at all. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

It is Michael B. or Sonny T. or both. They were laying down basic trax (bass and drums) with no idea what songs they were recording. Most likely they were asking Prince if they were done or what. Prince just left the talking in the recording. Sounds like this can also be found in the beginning of "One of Us" and a few other songs. thaCONcept

I also was thinking exactly the same. "He's a musician's musician..."

that's what i was thinking. it sounds vaguely like Sonny imo. anyway, it's a nice addition to the track, which is great and true love lives on lollipops and crisps
