Please? Small Club track, what on earth could R.A.D.E. mean? I tried the search function but it's down.

I'll be very grateful. Please?

lol so a typo on someone's part? Should've made the leap really, though it was huge.

Pretty short track though, no lyrics. I'll have to go back to see if it's that. Didn't sound like Rave.

Thanks for your help.

LoL
My entire Small Club is tracked wrong. Just a thing you have to get used to when it comes to illegal recordings done by peeps who don't know sh*t.

So I take it this track isn't Rave then. So what is it? Is it in fact the rare Rade Un2 The Joy Fantastic, a short furious guitar instrumental, or perhaps something entirely different?

It is a live rendition of 'Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic' (note the "Unto" spelling, as opposed to "Un2"). The live version during this aftershow features some fiery guitar work, some of the best Prince has ever played live onstage.

You need to get a better version of this show on CD. I suggest you go for Sabotage's version of this aftershow, "The Trojan Horse".

But this bears no resemblance, it's only less than 2 mins long!

p.s. I don't buy bootlegs.

That's because the disc has been shoddily produced. The track sequencing is all messed up. You're so much better off either with Thunderball's version of this, or else Sabotage's. just as I've recommended.

Thanks for the recommendation but u seem to be missing my point. It's not about how it's sequenced or the production. It's just an MP3. What I'm getting at is that I don't see where the likeness to Rave is.

I'm not even sure we're talking about the same song.

This is 1m 53s long, with no lyrics, and seemingly no Rave melody elements at all. I don't think it is Rave.

The song R A D E is an early live performance of 'Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic.
At one point during this live rendition Prince spells out the word RAVE using individual letters.
The bootleggers have listed the song title incorrectly. The fact that your version of the track lasts for such a short duration suggests you have a badly edited copy.
The best sounding version was,in my opinion released by X records with Moonraker's pressing a close second.

yes, it is 'rave unto the joy fantastic'. prince played this at an aftershow in holland in '88 ('small club' bootleg). the complete song is around 15 minutes long. near the end prince stops the music a couple of times, to continue shortly after. in the breaks he asks the crowd something like "do you want some more?" and then continues to solo some more on his guitar. you downloaded one of those solos inbetween breaks.
know that the live-version does not sound anything like the released version; this one's much faster and prince almost yells the lyrics.
don't need no reefer, don't need cocaine
purple music does the same to my brain
i'm high, so high
