But we'll never forget. That was the worst, most embarrasing song put out by any of my favourite artists ever. He even surpassed himself. Well done Prince!

Hater! The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

I know what you mean. Legal fire fights are never fun. However, there are a quite a few entertainment promotion companies that are not all that honest. I've closed (as a 3rd impartial party) multi-million dollar deals .. in the 10's of millions. ALWAYS with a signed contract. before any money ever exchanged hands. Now, of course that was pertaining to real estate. a completely different field. but I did leave Escrow company I worked for and took a job with an entertainment promotion company once. I thought it would fun and interesting and my previous experience could easily transfer over to the new field. Wrong. turns out that company was very dishonest. I discovered early on...something wasn't right. They were embezzlers and my training and previous work experience in Escrow .. writing contracts and overseeing as a 3rd impartial party the execution of and fulfillment of the meets, terms, bounds, covenants and condtions of those contracts...as a 3rd impartial party... helped me to catch on quick. So i did not go to work for them.(the concert promotional company) I'm sure if someone where to check out the background of this particular concert promotion company .. maybe even interview previous employee's for that company ..might be very revealing. [Edited 2/22/10 15:05pm] this is the time of the first fast.

[Edited 2/22/10 15:05pm] then again, it's a foreign country as someone pointed out. And one never knows what's going to happen in court no matter what country that court is in. fortunately Prince, I'm sure .. has a top legal team representing his interest in the matter ... so lets hope all works out well for him. this is the time of the first fast.

MCD will withdraw their lawsuit and go away quietly when Prince threatens to agree to perform at Croke Park and let MCD promote the concert with the understanding that it'll be nothing but 3 solid hours of all the other funereal Minnesota Vikings fight songs he's been keeping in The Vault.

Rebeljuice said: Prince may not have signed a contract with said company, but he did accept the gig as he himself was promoting it. Therefore I would argue that the emails between the two parties can constitute an agreement to perform. I submit items one through 24 as evidence - the emails exchanged. Also, the insurance company has already made its statement and states that the claim will not be paid as there was no reason for cancellation contained within its terms and conditions. I submit item 25 as evidence, the on-a-whim clause contained within said insurance contract. This may prove to be something ol' Princey boy may have to face up to. In this case it is the law of the ROI, not the USA. So it may prove harder to defend than he is used to. Especially if he is due to show up as a witness and doesnt show up. He has provided no reason for him not to show up or reschedule so it sounds like he is expected. [Edited 2/22/10 1:31am] Where did he promote the gig? Emails can be legally binding but he or someone authorized to represent him in his camp would have had to have explicitly agreed to everything with pretty specific legal language, otherwise his lawyers will have huge opportunities in proving he had no legal binding to the agreement with the William Morris people. My guess, without of course seeing the emails, but knowing the nature of average email discussions, is that non-specific language was used and that will basically mean P's legal team will have an easy time with this case. Change it one more time..

what about the cancelled concert at NRGi Park in Århus, Denmark same year???
This was announced - there even was a competition running every day, a whole week on tv2 radio (the station is now closed), I think 5 winners won concert tickets together with VIP passports to backstage, but after all these efforts, the concert was cancelled with no explenation why... http://prince.org/msg/12/263506 ? --- [Edited 2/22/10 20:26pm] Prince 4Ever.

YES INDEED!!! So which side you on?[/quote] That question is DANGEROUS. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |
