Let's Work remix anyone know more about it I was in a Taxi heaidng home from a club back in November when an amazing dance/house mix of Let's Work came on the radio. It really rocked (and keyed into my mood having just bopped away to house beats for several hours).
I got the driver to crank up the sound and hoped at the end the DJ would say who it was by...but nothing. Anybody know anything about this? 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

Was it the long version or did it sound like a DJ's remix?
The 12" long version was released back in 81. Has a sample from "controversy" in it toward the end of the song. "Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion" -- Martha Graham

This was defo a DJ remix - very modern, very house, very good!
I would love to be in a club and for some Prince House remix to come on. 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

Yep, definately a remix.
I heard it about a month ago on Radio 1 here in the UK. I think it was by Felix Da House Cat.

I was in my car yesterday when a banging version of Let's Work came on the radio. I was very surprised to hear this being played. It sounded great and I cranked it way up!
That would be a good project for Prince -- work with someone who does modern remixes of older jams and he can get his music back into the clubs

The version you heard is probably the Dark Dancer Remix. It is from a white label 12'. The flipside has Soul Jam Session.
Love this remix | |

I agree. There are a some great remixes floating around but since they never get officially released, they tend to disappear. Not a big deal...it would be something good for WBros to release instead of greatest hit cd's(their last one was lame). That would be a good project for Prince -- work with someone who does modern remixes of older jams and he can get his music back into the clubs "Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion" -- Martha Graham

Jay - I recently bought Let's Work 2002 house remix and Erotic City House remix from a company based in Birmingham UK. As far as I know, these were only available on vinyl but they are monster club tunes. There's loads more P re-mixes available, at this link: http://www.htfr.com Little? Yeah, right. It might be little but it's loud

Oh My God there are SO MANY house remixes of Prince songs available!
Surely some enterprising producer could try and put a deal together to get an album out of "Prince in da House". After all someone managed to put together the cover album "If I were Prince" (although as a remix album would also feature Prince's performance this would probably be vetoed by our man) Just imagine if clubs started playing Prince House style remixes in heavy rotation! A whole new generation would get into him. 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! A whole new generation would get into him. there's a rumour doing the rounds that Warners are compiling an album of Prince remixes by House artists. lets wait and see although I reckon they'll be loads of "oooh, Warner's are ripping off Prince" messages on here again if it does happen

Prince is very popular amongst the club scene at the moment, particularly in the funky house set up. Some of the remixes (Controversy, Let's Work, Die 4 U) knocking about are some of the best I've heard. At last some real DJ's doing the mixing, not like some of those lame house mixes we got as b-sides before. Remember those god awful My Name Is Prince and Thieves in the Temple mixes? Jeeez! Little? Yeah, right. It might be little but it's loud

See Peter Blacks Purple Mix and Black Dub on the white label.
