"Peak The Technique" & "Martial Law" ? Any info on these Gold-era Jams? I came across them in a bootleg and I think they're pretty cool. Love the use of samples. "GARSON! Avez-Vous un crayon? That's French, understand?"

I think the correct title should be "Peep The Technique" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'll play it first and tell you what it is later. -Miles Davis-

"Technique" is on The Beautiful Experience if I'm not mistaken. It's not part of the video, but it is on the audio CD that leaked out.

Actually, both tracks are on the Interative Night limited edition CD from 1994 released through Paisley Park. I was just listening to both tracks about two days ago. [Edited 1/29/10 14:04pm] "A united state of mind will never be divided

The song is called "Peak The Technique" and the original was a rap song by Eric B. & Rakim if I remember correctly. If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in!

That was "Don't Sweat The Technique", by Rakim. "He's a musician's musician..."

"R U Experienced" is my new favorite bootleg. In the past I wasn't much of a fan when P used backing tracks, but I love it here, especially on "Now" and "Days Of Wild(love that jam)" "GARSON! Avez-Vous un crayon? That's French, understand?"

[Edited 1/29/10 14:04pm] Sorry, what? That sounds like a bootleg to me. I have the CD and it is numbered 441 of 1500 that were released. There is only one thing that I'm not sure of, whether the CD was released through Paisley Park or some other source. I have to go back and try to read the liner notes again. From the name, it sounds like the reissue of Love Simple's Interactive Night (dumbest bootleg name ever, but a cracking performance) Erik blah blah blah

So why then did you pretend that it was an official release in the first place? Genius, I wasn't pretending that it was an official release. I was unsure about what I have in my collection. YOU are suppose to be the Prince expert, you would think YOU would know. Bart, please stop acting like an ass! Add any knowledge you might have about the music without the snide comments...it cheapens you. "A united state of mind will never be divided

Co Sign! R U Expcerienced is great especially the live version of "Now" where the instruments drop out at the end and you hear nice harmonies stacked on top of each other singing "Now"!!

Only when others pointed out that it was a boot you suddenly became "not sure". And now you claim you weren't "pretending that it was an official release"? You do realize that your original post is still up there? That it has been quoted? Why is it so bloody hard to admit you "made a mistake"? Why do you start insulting those that pointed out your "mistake"? © Bart Van Hemelen

Who was the idiot who missed his cue for a guitar solo during "What I Say"? I've always wondered that. I love how Prince plays his guitar for him and says "I just wanted to make sure it worked!" lol
I have these songs on the Beautiful Experience boot, one my first ever a decade ago.

Me too! I'm sure it was lighthearted, but would love to know who it was who was playing! (D') It was Prince, wasn't it? He was the only guitarist in the band at the time, and there's nothing to indicate that there are guests on stage.
