This album was a 2 week grower. The initial listen had me like "C'mon P" until "The Dance" had that wonderful vocal tirade at the end. "Fury" had already been destroyed live on SNL & I haven't heard a version that can top it Prince was dead-on that night as he usually is. 3121 now is a very good album IMO but it's not Planet Earth or Lotus/MPLSound for that matter. There are some gems on it being:
Incense & Candles
The Word
Love
Lolita
Get On The Boat
Satisfied

U must have heard it on the news this morning
Congratulations, a new star is born
Sun 2 shadow, rose 2 a thorn
But there ain't no fury like a woman scorned

Y'all musta dug it when U did your thang
It's like the song everybody wanna sang
When the music's over your ears'll ring
With a voice that says "Queen got no king"
Got no king, (No, she don't)

He got a message sayin' U tried 2 reach him on the phone
He didn't wanna answer cuz he's so afraid
U'll probably tell him just 2 leave U alone

U must have heard he got another band
They're makin' money, they're makin' plans
U feel left out, but U need 2 understand
Word on the street — he's still your man
He's still your man, he's still your man, girl

(Look out, look out) Look out here comes your rainy day
Now U think U got a good reason 2 say
Everything that's in your heart, come what may
Even though his might get broken

Who's the guilty 1, (who's the guilty 1) when there ain't no judge and jury?
Shadow 2 the sun (shadow 2 the sun), next 2 the 1 (next 2 the 1)
Hell ain't got no fury

Will the roses the dead keep sending
Repair the heart in need of mending?
Will this song have a happy ending?
Only the woman knows, only she knows

2 sides 2 every story
One man's gloom is another man's glory
Sun 2 a shadow (shadow), rose 2 a thorn (rose 2 a thorn)
There ain't no fury like a woman scorned
Oh no, ain't no fury like a woman scorned {x2} (Oh no)
No fury like a woman scorned

"Fury" is a song by Prince, from his 2006 album 3121.[1] The single was debuted live on Saturday Night Live on February 4, 2006. It was also part of Prince's four song set at the 2006 BRIT Awards.

"Fury" is a highly energetic number, reminiscent of the psychedelic rock performed by Jimi Hendrix. Its instrumental chorus consists of a repeated 4-chord keyboard segment. The track features live drumming and strong guitar work throughout, ending with loud guitar distortion. The title comes from the line "ain't no fury like a woman scorned", which itself is a lightly changed version of the old saying "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned".

The song was released as the third single from 3121 in the UK on May 30, 2006, and reached number sixty on the UK Singles Chart. The single's B-sides are a live version of the song, and "Te Amo Corazón", both performed at the 2006 BRIT Awards. In addition to being released as a CD single, it was also released on a 12" vinyl single as a picture disc. The CD single also had a video of the live performances. The single's cover is also reminiscent of the psychedelic rock era.

"Black Sweat" is a song by Prince that was released as the second single from his 2006 album 3121. The music video to accompany the single was released on February 2, 2006. At the 49th Annual Grammy Awards, it was nominated for Best R&B Song and Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.

The song showcases minimalist funk alongside hip hop elements. Similar to "When Doves Cry" and "Kiss", a bassline is absent from the mix, which is an unusual occurrence in a pop song. Essentially, the only instruments are drum machines and a high-pitched synthesizers. Prince delivers most of the song in his trademark falsetto.

Chart performance
For the week ending March 11, 2006, "Black Sweat" debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number sixty (Prince's highest debut in years), and at number eighty-three on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles and Tracks chart. It also debuted at number one on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles Sales chart, which tabulates both physical and digital sales.

The song's initial surge of 11,500 digital singles sales was prompted by a month-long promotion with iTunes, in which four consumers would win a private concert performance by Prince (source: Billboard magazine, issue date March 11, 2006). "Black Sweat" was bundled with a second track from 3121, "Beautiful, Loved and Blessed". The song's lofty Hot 100 debut was attributed to this promotional tactic. As is typical with songs whose chart position is predominantly attributed to initial sales (with little or no radio airplay), "Black Sweat" dropped off the Hot 100 the following week.

"Black Sweat" debuted at number two on the Canadian Singles Chart for sales. The track was released March 27, 2006 in the UK, and charted relatively low at #43 on the UK singles chart, meaning Prince has not had a top 40 hit since the re-release of "1999" in (aptly) the year 1999. In Italy the single peaked at #24.

Overall, "Black Sweat" appeared on the pop charts in a number of countries in 2006, including the U.S., and went Top 40 on the charts in Greece, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, and Spain [1]. In addition, the song was a hit on Japanese radio, staying at high rotation for several weeks on stations throughout the country.

This is always in my top 3 favorite albums. Thanks for all the pics. It doesn't hurt that to me he was at his sexiest whether in a suit or tunic. The Twinz are Olsen twin tiny "cause they are tinier they he is and (despite being a bit plain) highlight his sex appeal.

I play the song Love a lot, and it's not thought of as one of his best. Black Sweat, 3121 get me moving every time. There isn't a song on that album that makes me hit the skip button.

Haven't seen anywhere, where he performed this song...during that time period at least
has he?

Stop telling me what U want me 2 hear
Stop telling me what U want me 2 fear
Stop tripping on somethin' U overheard
Love is winning without a word
Stop giving me your wish list
Love is free from all this

CHORUS:
Like a bird flyin' over the hilltops
Love is like the sky, U know it never stops
From the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks
Love is whatever, whatever U want it 2 be

Love is not a game U can play on the floor
U gotta stop keeping score
(If U wanna) If U wanna play me like U did b4
U better stop and walk out the door
We could skate around the issues if U like
But who's gon' get U high in the middle of the night?

CHORUS

Oh
Whoa whoa oh
Oh

I see U standing wit' your back on the wall
U better, better get your hands up and clap if that's all
And uh, if U don't wanna get yours, then let me get mine
See, ain't gonna be no drama cuz we have a good time

What's the point in giving me ultimatums?
Smilin' at my friends when U really hate 'em
Tryin' 2 convince me that I should 2
What's the point?

Stop worryin' about what people say
When U ain't gon', ain't gonna stop 'em anyway, uh
Love can do anything if U try
Come on, spread your wings and let's fly, uh

Fly so high, fly, flyin' over the hilltops
Love is like the sky, U know it never stops (Ain't gonna stop, now)
From the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Speak 2 me)
Love is whatever, whatever, whatever...

CHORUS
(Speak 2 me, uh)
(Talking 'bout love now)

Whatever U want it 2 be {x3}
(Talking 'bout love, now)
Alright, let's skate!

Uh!

Come on,
I see U standin' wit' your back on the wall
U better get your hands up and clap if that's all
If U don't wanna get yours, then let me get mine
See, ain't gonna be no drama cuz we have a good time

Bounce!
Ah, shake that thang, come on
Ah, bounce it, baby
Ah, shake that thang, come on
Good God!

I love the words to the Chorus of "Love". The rest of the words may not be totally positive but the chorus is.

These pics are fantastic. I keep looking at him and thinking how incredibly sexy he was less than 4 years ago. His hair was great, the clothes so great for on stage and off. As I have said before, I can't go for the granny in the neck ruffle and wearing a bump, but this look....Oh, yeah.

PEOPLE MAGAZINE

Prince
3121
(Universal)
3 1/2 stars (out of 4)

"I'm hot and I don't care who knows it/ I got a job 2 do." So declares Prince, working himself into a funky lather on "Black Sweat," the hip-gyrating highlight of his new CD. Recapturing his old "Kiss" -style swagger and irreverence ("You'll be screamin' like a white lady when I count 2 3: 1-2-3") over a ferocious groove, it's quite simply the baddest thing he's done in years.

Of course, it's not totally unexpected. You could feel this coming after Prince's 2004 comeback album Musicology and hits heavy tour of the same name, restored him to his rightful throne. And 3121 shows that His Purple Highness has no intention of stepping down anytime soon. Even better than its double-platinum predecessor, it boasts higher highs: "Lolita," along with "Black Sweat," gives this disc the best one-two punch he's had since "Gett Off and "Cream."

With its bright synth lines and tight rhythm guitar, "Lolita" is classic 80's Prince, though now that he is a Jehovah's Witness, he won't surrender to the nubile temptress who's "fine from head 2 pumps." Elsewhere, the scorching, electric guitar charged "Fury" takes him back to the funk-rock glory of the Revolution era, while the spiritually glowing "Beautiful, Loved & Blessed" pairs Prince with new protogee Tamar, a much better duet partner than Apollonia ever made. A couple of lesser slow jams, including the Latin-flavored "Te Amo Corazon," make 3121 fall short of the slam dunk it could have been. Still, there's plenty here to make you go crazy all over again.

September 29.2006
Versace Theater Milan, Italy
Gianni Versace Fashion Show

Prince @ the Versace Show 9.29.2006
Versace's Spring/Summer 2007 women's collections during Milan Fashion Week

By Sophie Hardach

MILAN (Reuters) - Gone were the acid colours, gone were the clinging plastic trousers, as Versace feted its new, sober style with 1960s cream shift dresses and geometric prints.

Platinum-haired Donatella Versace hasn't completely left behind her glamorama days -- pop star Prince sat in a celebrity-studded front row, huddled in a cream-coloured coat, and watched models strut past to the pumping beats of his music.

"You don't have to be rich to be my girl," Prince's voice squeaked through the loudspeakers, but the girls on the catwalk told a different story with cool thigh-skimming dresses and gold-handled bags that were made for the jet set.

Versace plunged into heavy losses after founder Gianni Versace was murdered in the 1990s, and sales dived as his sister Donatella veered from one screamingly flamboyant collection to the next.

It has since then undergone a radical turnaround cure, repositioning itself as a super-luxury brand, shedding loss-making units and boosting its profitable accessories business -- cue a green clutch bag and white leather bags dangling from gold chains in Friday's fashion show.

Brown, black and white geometric print dresses, a mustard yellow empire waist dress, chocolate-brown shorts and tailored jackets followed that sensible, business-conscious spirit.

Amid the wearable, sellable clothes, Donatella Versace's love for glamour shone through in the form of gold straps on white dresses, angel wings on a white and silver gown, a gold-plate bustier and a long pink princess gown.

The 1960s shift dresses, the nods to Gianni Versace's high-octane style were in line with a retro-happy fashion week.

With Giorgio Armani looking back to the elegant days of his youth, Gucci and Burberry yearning for the 1960s and Dolce & Gabbana throwing in some 1980s aggressiveness, Milan fashion week was too nostalgic for some.

"Milan's been a little bit disappointing," said Anna Wintour, editor of American Vogue and the only journalist to be escorted through the queuing crowds by four burly men in suits.

"There are too many designers here looking to the past, going through their old magazines ... I am looking forward to Paris," she said with a smile.

Canadian label DSquared had jumped on the retro train earlier that Friday, reconstructing an Italian piazza for its Dolce Vita-themed fashion show and blasting out 1950s summer hits.

Twins Dean and Dan Caten had set up café facades complete with bustling waiters and loitering young men on scooters to create the right mood for their yellow or navy-with-gold-buttons jackets, ice cream-pink striped mini-dresses, shorts and cropped Capri trousers.

I have a question that someone may know the answer to. I was over a friends house and they had the tv playing but you could not hear it. It was VH1 and they were showing a prince video. The video had prince back to back witha woman who was dancing. She was a small black woman with large breasts who had a bob and I think bangs. She danced adorably, kind of like a lava lamp fluidity to her. Anyway, was that video black sweat?

I have a question that someone may know the answer to. I was over a friends house and they had the tv playing but you could not hear it. It was VH1 and they were showing a prince video. The video had prince back to back witha woman who was dancing. She was a small black woman with large breasts who had a bob and I think bangs. She danced adorably, kind of like a lava lamp fluidity to her. Anyway, was that video black sweat?

I put the Black Sweat images up in this thread, scroll back and check it out

no she is not in there. But she was back to back like the other dancer and she was shorter than P too. Prince had that wrap thing on his head aswell, as I recall. It was the way that she was dancing and the fact that she was more cute then sexy that made it stick in my head.
There came a time when the risk of remaining tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Anais Nin.

The Dance

I don't wanna give U my love
Cuz I don't wanna lose my mind
I don't wanna give U my love
Cuz if I do it's gonna be the last time
Ooh, ooh, ooh

Cuz I never want 2 feel this way again
If I can't be your lover
I don't wanna be your friend, no
I don't wanna be friends, no
Ooh, ooh

I don't wanna hold your hand, no (I don't wanna hold your hand)
Cuz I would just follow U everywhere, oh
I don't wanna see U dance (I don't wanna see U, girl)
Cuz I don't even really want 2 take the chance
Of fallin' in love with U, baby

If U ever said those beautiful words 2 me
"If I wanna be your fantasy," yes
I wanna dance, yes
Let's dance, sugar
Ooh ooh ooh, oh

I don't wanna give U my love

Oh baby, this must be temptation
Cuz I just can't get U off my mind
I try and try
But when I close my eyes
I see U every time

I don't wanna go 2 fast, ooh
Cuz if I do I just might stay (Stay with me)
I'd stay with U baby (Yeah)
I guess I better make it last (Make it last)
The longer that I feel this way (The longer that U feel this way, girl)
Ooh oh

Cuz I never want 2 feel this way again
If I can't be your lover
I don't wanna be your friend, no
I don't wanna be friends, no

I don't wanna give U my love, oh honey, baby (No no no)
Baby, r U gonna really just stand there
And act like U don't want this?
Baby, if U do then U know I just don't care
Oh baby, I could find another
Just like U anywhere
Oh baby, they might not have your hips, girl
And all that pretty hair, oh
At least they won't spend all day in the mirror
Tryin' 2 find somethin' 2 wear
At least, they won't wanna make love
Like U do on the stairs, against the pole on the north corner of the...
Oh baby, baby, baby, baby, it's just not fair
It's just not fair!
Oww!
