Strip down... I think i'm gonna fall in love tonight.... So I know a lot of people on the (org) are not very big on Graffiti Bridge (The movie )
I watched it again today and Ive gained a new sense of feeling for it... I decided there truly are some good assets to this movie plus I'm die hard for (the album) I especially love the "Elephants and flowers" performance... there is just something about that song that just puts me in a good mood.. Anybody out there got love for this song? or any love for the movie? I guess in general i'm a sucker for prince (in leather and long hair) I do agree with others that have said Ingrid Chavez couldnt act her way out of a paper bag! Boy is lonely on a burnin' hot summer night He's looking 4 some action, he's looking 4 a fight He's looking 4 a savior in a city full of fools Maybe he just needs a good talker 2 give him a good talkin' 2 Can we talk, baby? Strip down, strip down I think I'm gonna fall in love 2night Elephants and flowers Hot sweaty light paints a picture red and gold On a crowd of naked bodies stripped down 2 their very souls (New Power) How can he find a shy angel in a city so bold? (Super bold) He can't even find a place 2 dance Huh, this is rock 'n' roll Strip down, strip down (Elephants and flowers) Is everybody ready? Here we go! CHORUS: Love the One who is Love (Love) One who gives us the power (Power) One who made everything (What?) Elephants and flowers (What will He do?) One who will listen when all others will not There will be peace 4 those who love God a lot Elephants and flowers Strip down I think I'm gonna fall in love 2night And when I do, there won't be no more (Confusion) There won't be no more tears (No tears) There won't be no more enemies so that eliminates all the fear There won't be no sorrow (Sorrow) There won't be no pain (No pain) There won't be no ball and no chain Strip down, strip down Elephants and flowers Boy is lonely on a burnin' hot summer night He's looking 4 an angel 2 hold him till the morning light Here we go Love the One who is Love (Well) One who gives us the power (Power) One who made everything (Everything) Elephants and flowers (Oh yeah) One who will listen when all others will not There will be peace 4 those who love God a lot Here we go [Edited 2/8/10 23:48pm] insatiable3: how can i cure my hangover?

I luurve E&F. It's a definate hangover from Lovesexy. I think it could work live in a similar 'gospel' way to say Willing & Able with call and response type vocals.
The whole god capital gee thing is pretty strong, so it makes the chorus kinda goofy, but it's overflowing with good vibes, so it's not too intrusive.

I like Graffiti Bridge, I love Prince in that movie.
Ingrid Chavez is annoying ... I wish Prince had someone else for that part. My fave song is tick, tick, bang.

I have very little love for the movie, but Elephants and Flowers has always been among my favorite Prince songs. I abdicated the throne in Ithaca, but now I am...

"Elephants & Flowers," is one of those spiritual songs Prince has that makes him so charming. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

"stripped down to their very souls" it seems rawer and more urgent too . . . i'm torn between them myself. i dig the rawer lyrics and prince's sore throat voice on the alternate version (the same with live 4 love and other songs like it), but the released version is more "accesible", i guess and breezier, so i'm drawn to that one also. one of my favorites either way. a classic and happy to see a thread about it For all time I am with you, you are with me.

I've heard before that there's a version with alternate lyrics but I haven't been able to track it down. Nor have I been able to find the alternate lyrics. Does anybody have them?

Love the song, love the movie and I even like Ingrid in her role. Together with Prince she has something mysterious. I love the scene when they are in bed playing hangman and when she points to God above saying she is His
