Prince "TMBGITW" For the past year or so on my local jazz station I have been hearing a jazz version of Prince's song "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World" and I have been looking all over for the artist of it but cant seem to find he/she anywhere! On the station they havent named the artist oddly but would anyone happen 2 know any jazz artists who have done covers of the song? I had found one artist,I cant remember his name but could anyone help me out? Thanks. "All that glitters ain't gold"

Apperantly he has worked with prince on a few of his albums and went on tour with him on his 21 nights tour but I dont see any solo jazz version. "All that glitters ain't gold"

Are you sure you're not listening to Prince's own jazz version off of the Beautiful Experience? because, the jazz version of tmbgitw on it is 2 die 4!, and I can't see it being a better version out there.

No I thought it was from that album but it isnt,it had the intro to the song and then it was like a smooth jazz version i guess u could call it. "All that glitters ain't gold"

There is no official jazz version of the song. Maceo Parker did a version of "The Greatest Romance Ever Sold", not "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World". There are version of just a sax (Brian Gallagher from the NPG Horn Headz), and a flute version with Eric Leeds that are both out there, and both official. Perhaps that is what the original poster is thinking of. Those two versions are Prince's version, sans the vocal track, and just Eric or Brian playing their horn over the top. There are also, obviously, the different versions on The Beautiful Experience. There is probably also an artist, perhaps a neo-jazz or fusion, artist who has covered the song. I hear "That's The Way Love Goes" from Janet a lot on the radio, and it's usually a guitar version; some jazz or Yanni-type artist who has covered it. [Edited 2/5/10 8:20am]

It was released two ways: "Brian’s Mix" (3:30) (Promo Only) "Sax Mix" - 4:37 (Japan release only of The Beautiful Experience EP)
