Did Prince ever inspire you to do smth/to change smthng in your life?

Hi, guys
Please share if prince was ever an inspiration to you for anything in your life? Like, for example, did anyone started to compose music/sing, did anyone decided to change the lifestyle (become vegetarian),maybe prince inspired you to be more confident in yourself or inspired you to lose weight:)? Does anyone actually changed the look(hair/warderobe) to look like prince?
For me, his music and his extraordinary personality was always an inspiration. Inspiration to compose my own music and to be free.

The Holy River encouraged me to take an optimistic look at life. Im sure everyone can testify to having some negative times in their lives, the song teaches you that looking up and having faith is far better way to go!

To be fair theres so many tunes that have inspired me in a certain way or fashion, a few accounts I may not even be aware of lol. My subconcious could be doing its own thing.

Prince the person, encourages me to rely on my creativity which my job involves a lot of. Hes a very prolific guy and thats a person you want to follow in terms of making your own ideas a reality.

Adore gave me a firmer feel of how I want to feel toward the woman I love.

Dead On It made me want to see how much she might like it if I licked her on the knees.

I always wanted to know if I tried it, would she be begging "Please please please" lol

I'm serious about both! wink

only from a 'learn from the mistakes of others' point of view i.e. from the minute he started his career he seems to have been blessed with so many great people, band members etc who worked their butts of for him and went wayyyyy beyond the call of duty. In return he's to have assumed that it was his right to expect this and almost a priveledge for them to serve him. It also appears that he has not grown greatly but may have improved a little. Anyway, it has always made me so appreciative of all those around me who have helped me in even the slightest way to get where I am.
Good Q by the way!.

He inspired me to watch sad movies with pigeons. I had a tape recorder set up and I sat through 23 weepy movies trying to find out what it sounds like.

Prince inspired me with his dress... I always have had a eccentric glam style but he made me feel more confident in just being me... He also introduced me to a wonderful world of music... I never knew I would like funk before I listened to him.... wink

I have been inspired to never listen to anything named "Purple and Gold" ever again.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

Yes. I wanted to learn the ropes of the road so that one day I could be Prince's Lighting Designer.

I did go on the road, and was offered the opportunity to learn lights with a complany in Atlanta. I became a Mother at 21 years old. I wouldn't trade Motherhood 4 anything.
I was fortunate to experience what I did behind the stages of many groups. "Midnight Star & Staff," are the people that gave me that wonderful opportunity. cool

Nope. Failed miserably too. My girlfriend broke out into laughter and giggles, and almost accidentally knocked out my front teeth!

I still have psychological scars whenever I look at at a woman's knees.

Thank you Prince! neutral lol

To answer the OP seriously though, yes.

I think getting into P as a young lad helped me develop a thick skin and go my own way no matter what. I came from a mixed cultural background and had sexuality issues, so his pan racial/sexual approach was a source of support in a way.

Then again, maybe I got into P because I had that sort of character and background already - chicken or egg I guess

(Although Aristotle is quite sure it was the chicken)

way too many people over the years who have worked with him, have traded with him etc have told many , many stories of his awful actions. Sorry, but there's way too much info out there for it to be incorrect. Hell, look at the way he treats us!

Funkyhead, that's actually a separate topic, but I honestly think Prince revels in this image of himself.

Maybe it comes from some sort of "little man" syndrome. Or maybe from having to succeed against all odds and doubters.

Have you ever seen the video 18 and Over? What sticks out is the beginning when he SNAPS on one of the NPG musicians and says... "Because they're going to be in MY VERSION of the VIDEO!!!!"

I'm sure that this type of "bullying" attitude exists in his nature, and I'm willing to bet that this sort of a reaction is probably true in many cases.

He's humble when speaking, but cocky and arrogant when performing and in the spotlight... but once again... that's another topic.

nod His music and style are very inspiring. He has been a big influence in my life. His music is so challenging, mind-opening, just makes me think/wonder/laugh/cry... and gradually it has certainly changed the way I think about many things. He has also inspired my style.
