Actually, I don't really dislike it, I was kinda kidding. It does get better with age.
The guys at the Peach and Black podcast say it is as good as a song on Parade. It does have that vibe. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Yeah, it's a weaker song on the album. I like the album overall, but "Te Amo" just seems to creep along.

I remember when this was coming out as the first single saying to myself he did a jazz album now hes gonna do a spanish album. I almost thought he really lost it there. Prince doing salsa and meregue songs.LMAO. Now that would have been a new low unless he collaborated with Sheila E and Mayte. And even that was questionable. But song did grow on me with time.

It wasn't the first time, alone, he had approached that sound either. He was doing it more from 1996 onward.

I never liked this song too much either. I think he was just trying to get into Salma Hayek's panties.
It's also the first time I ever recall Prince releasing a slower ballad to introduce an album. Nope... not a fan. Very forgettable tune. Snorefest indeed. The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!

If he has to include spanish lyrics he could take 5 minutes to learn the correct pronunciation, IMO
It's just six syllables, P

Today I like the song much more than I did back in the day.
Really digging the live version 16th. february 2006 at the Brit Awards. When I see that I remember how great it felt when he gave us the 3121 album. For me it's the only weak track on the album. But.... I go for YAY! Dancing helps relieve the pain. Soothes your mind, makes you happy again!!!

'Te Amo Corazon' is one of Prince's great songs of the past decade, without any doubt. So much happening here I still haven't absorbed it all properly. The strings are divine, the composition is first rate, the arrangements are really cream of the crop, and the vocal deliveries with guitar undertones are marvellous. So subtle that it might go over many people's heads, and that is understandable, but it is a golden nugget on an album full of treasures.

One of his absolute best, i was just listening to the other day and the production is by far the absolute best in 25 years. The Clair Fischer strings and the guitar are absolutely gorgeous. I get a kick out of people on here that would dog this song or "Solo" because it shows the lack of sophistication of a lot of the fans here, lol If he actually listened to some of the folks here it should be of no surprise for the dumbed down MplSound type music of the last couple of decades.

Yay! It's got a beautiful smooth melody. I like the fact that the video was directed by talented and beautiful actress Salma Hayek.

It's also the first time I ever recall Prince releasing a slower ballad to introduce an album. . Actually, no. He released Betcha By Golly Wow as the first single from Emancipation. Wasn't The One the first single off New Power Soul also? And technically TMBGITW was the first "single" from the Gold Experience. "I have a date with Lisa. Isn't that wonderful?"
