Fun memory of concert, add ur memory :)

Fun memory of concert in London:
Prince asked the audience what do you call this (pointing at his sweater) someone shouted out a jumper, he asked something like, what do you think off it and someone rudely shouted out ugly, Prince pulled a face and just laughed so the audience laughed with him.

Now Ur turn smile

on the ONA set he says
'money can't by you happiness, but it'll pay for the search'.

I thought that was hiliarious.

At the Toronto show this summer after Glen Lewis finished singing and left the stage... Prince went on about how the record companies were snakes, he was warning Glen Lewis

I don't remember the exact words.

Wait... that wasn't that funny.

Well I have 3:

1) Attending my 1st aftershow in Buffalo on the ONA tour and seeing how relaxed Prince was, calling people up to sing on Paisley Park, and Larry Graham coming out into the audience gretting people after he finished his part of the aftershow set.

2) At the 1998 Jam Of The Year Buffalo Prince saying to the parents if you have kids take them out now and then he did Face Down.

3) He came here To Rochester NY only once at that was 1979 opening for Rick James on the Fire It Up Tour. The radio station here (WDKX 103.9) gave a contest stating that if you we're a certain caller number you would get to meet Prince backstage and get a kiss from him. Well this did happen and Jet Magazine put it in their Picture Of The Week column and boy did he have his tongue straight down her throat!!! But you can also tell that was early in his career because I have never heard of him doing that again.

I had an orgasm with Prince. Actually everyone did. At the 1985 Indianapolis concert, he told everyone to rub their fingers together and asked if we knew what that was. Then he answered: orgasm.

The Ghent intro to Pussy Control was cool when he said "it is only dirty if you don' wash up..."

in'93 when we had to sing along a 'dam dam di dam... " thing he complicated it so much we got all confused.

In Frankfurt during Adore when he commented on bruning his clothes "but not these ones..." And the girl who could not take off her jacket to dance that was cool and it was nice to see her all bushing with Prince adressing her...

COMON

lONDON 5th October 2003

Prince playing acoustic guitar on his lonesome.

Place is very quiet, everyone listening. Some geezer yells out "WE LOVE YOU PRINCE!" Everyone in the building heard.

Prince stops:

"Now look, I got love for my fellow man as much as the next the guy, but you know. If you could save it for one of the big rock and roll numbers that might be better"

To the audience member's credit/shame he yelled it out again a few mintues later but Prince just ignored it.

Number 2

During the same show at the soundcheck Prince said 'I'm going to the play the drums for you in a bit" short silence follows, someone says "Go on then!"

Prince impersonated the guy in fairly convincing South London Accent. Then whipped those drums sure nuff!

Hmmm. I think the same thing happened at the 1999 Bataclan.
French fans, didn't he tell us the same?

Diamonds and Pearls tour, Earls Court, London. The concert finished, Prince and the NPG left the stage, the house lights went up. People started to leave and after about 5 minutes Prince and the band reappeared and did a scorching version of Call The Law. There was pandemonium as people rushed to the front of the stage and people came running back into the auditorium.

Hmmm let’s see…

Triple Threat, Circa 1982 in Chicago – The very first time ever I saw his face LIVE… that’s when it all started!! That moment will always be special!!

I missed a lot during the 90’s because of “this thing called Life”! I made myself a promise to make up for it and I think it's been a success so far!

Hit & Run November 2000 in Chicago, IL – Prince & I are dancing face to face... he moves in close and I look down and his leg is in between mine omg... uhhh ’cuse me while I go get a drink!

NPG Music Club Launch Party March 2001, Chicago, IL – Prince squatting down in front of me and, right there in my face, he ripped the tightest solo from Purple Rain that I'd ever heard!! worship

Soundcheck moment – San Francisco, April 2001 – This was the very first soundcheck ever that fams were invited into. After Prince ripped a bluesy version of Purple Rain… we didn’t even recognize it ‘til he uttered the lyrics “ I never meant to cause you any sorrow”, then tore our hearts out with the most incredible version of Joy in Repetition that I have heard to date… he put the guitar down and said, “Okay, that works”! He then strolled to the foot of the stage and sat down with his legs hanging over the edge. I said, “I have a question”!! He acknowledge me nod and I stood up... my buddy said I acted like I thought I was on Oprah or something rolleyes! I got to ask Prince the very first question at the very first fam soundcheck, and I will never forget it!! My question?? Oh! Well, at that time, the one thing that was on the minds of every Prince fam was whether or not there would be a Celebration II. I got him to spill the beans!! He looked up in the air, smiled slyly and said, “Yes” nod ! The whole room went up in applause! woot!

Celebration 2002 – Going to the Movies with Prince and Acoustic night! Loved that whole experience! Also loved the set after the acoustic session where he did that medley consisting of The Question of U, The One, Fallin’ and Ain’t No Sunshine! Good Gawd!!! music

Oberhausen, Germany and The Bataclan Aftershow in Paris, France – October 2002! Good Gawd Again!!! music

at radio city music hall touring for the "symbol" record. prince was doing an awesome ballad medley and when he went to grab the mic for "scandalous" he went running and slid right past it and fell on his ass! the stage crew came running onstage with flashlights to wipe it down while the music kept going. funny as hell.

My most exciting experience came from the Kansas City Hit N Run. Prince threw his white NPGMC hat into the audience and I caught it. I still don't know how I did it. It amazes me to this day.

My Bad duh ... You are absolutely right!! It was Oakland! I flew into and spent most of my time in San Francisco. We took the train to Oakland for the show then hi-tailed it back to San Fran for that unforgettable aftershow at the Filmore. Geez, I should've added that to my list of most memorable shows!

Thank you for correcting me!! All this traveling has me confused! smile
