In all honesty, I believe it was the cover of the album that hurt his sales. Although we can appreciate the artwork, it could have been on the inside.

When you go to the site that manufactured the cds, for 900 single discs in the tri-fold cases, it's right at $1000, so it is possible for the quantity that it was less than $1 per unit. i recently saw lotusflow3r selling at Target for $9.99 and thought that was a great deal!!!... considering it is still selling very HIGH in toronto. i had also checked walmart... it was $43.00 there and hmv has it listed for $39.99... http://www.hmv.ca/Product...04210.aspx
the cd is expensive and considered "Imported" outside the states because it was exclusive to Target... eye would grab some copies for $4.99... what an unbelievable price... something "does not compute" | |

It's a pretty awful record. What do you expect? The production is tired. The sound is dated and the lyrics are lame. On top of that the sleeve design looks like he did it himself. Once again, Prince does what he does best. Controls every aspect of his career. In effect, steamrolling it into the ground. Business as usual. $4.99 is too much. I got it for $1.98 | |
