has prince lost his "mojo" ive been a fan of prince since 1982 first concert i saw him was at radio city in 82 during the controversy tour, since then been through all his concerts,tv appearences etc, every album released to me was a major event, ive defended him on him music, his look, his eccentricities.Having said all this i feel like ive
seen a icon slowly losing his way and thats a sad thing to me.When he put out "purple and gold" i thought that the track was rushed and not really thought out like his was trying to capitalize of the vikings season so i gave him "a pass,a mulligan" figuring that the next track will be the real prince. This week i hear a new track"cause and effect" and like everyone else in here i got hyped, when i heard the 12 second snippet wednesday i figured this will be the "lets go crazy(part 2)or like the brillence of "fury" fire and brimstone will come out of his guitar and set a new precedence in rock music..but instead im hearing 3 seperate entites on the track its like he put together different sounds but its not cohesive, the 2nd guitar solo is like a mismash of just sound(he should not have the drummer doing a solo while he's playing..just too much noise and unnecessary im very confused and disappointed with him now i hope this is just a throw away track and not on a forth coming album..i need input from you guys cause i feel were watching the demise of a icon(i hope im wrong)

yeah after 2 weak released songs, I guess some of us (a lot?) have our doubts about Prince now....
but let's not judge him totally "washed up", after all he did write some ok songs on LF/MPLS like: Colonized Mind, Dreamer, Dance 4 Me, Ol' Skool Company. and: "Here" is great too. [Edited 2/26/10 20:55pm] Prince 4Ever.

Prince 1958-2010.
Let's hope he has something good left in the tank.

Its only 2 songs people. I enjoyed his last 3 albums and from what posts Ive read Prince's demise began a long time ago. Most of what I read on here is negativity and complaining.

There in lies your problem. That was 1984. It's 2010.

the best way to describe of what i feel is "torn" i feel he might have something left un done, but future releases producing "unfocused" or just
"noise music" then his production/icon.artistry has come to a abrupt end

That mojo is lost.
We're talking Jeremy Bentham-in-the-coffin, smoke monster, blow up the hatch-lost. We need John Locke to go back in time and turn some giant stone mechanism in the opposite direction in order to retrieve that shit.

It's not "mojo. It's that he has no goals, besides showing off and getting the next advance. Prince's songs sound like he's a kid let loose in the studio with no rules or structure. Just banging away however he pleases. I know he says that's a good thing, but what you get is a song, essentially without meaning to anyone, not even Prince.
