Prince and the Grammy Awards 1/31/10 The old thread should auto lock in a couple days, so here's a fresh one to discuss the awards tonight.
www.grammy.com www.grammy.com/nominees [To discuss other musical artists post here in the Music: non-Prince sticky thread http://prince.org/msg/8/329279 ~ luv4u] Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance For a solo vocal performance. Singles or Tracks only. Beyond Here Lies Nothin' Bob Dylan Track from: Together Through Life [Columbia] Change In The Weather John Fogerty Track from: The Blue Ridge Rangers Rides Again [Verve Forecast] Dreamer Prince Track from: LotusFlow3r [NPG Records] Working On A Dream Bruce Springsteen Track from: Working On A Dream [Columbia] Fork In The Road Neil Young Track from: Fork In The Road [Reprise] Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. Question is...will he win the grammy for "Dreamer?" I think he has a chance. In my opinion, "Dreamer" and "Colonized Mind" were the best tracks on the Lotsuflow3r cd. Maybe he'll give fans a sign of appreciation when he accepts the grammy and tap his nose 3x. (j/k, Don't trip on "the tap the nose thing" folks, just a cute joke among some fans from the npgmc days that had its run in a fun way. [Edited 1/31/10 11:29am]

Oh, Prince will be there. Wearing those giant-ass sunglasses, no doubt. Maybe he'll even perform Purple And Gold live. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Well honoring MJ is the right thing to do at the Grammys this year, but doesn't discount other artists' contributions. I won't be seeing it in 3D, just not something I was excited to do. I just hope they don't make the whole show about MJ. It's already depressing knowing he's gone. I still can't watch "This Is It". I also bought magazines about MJ and haven't read them yet. In due time long after is passing maybe I'll look through them. [Edited 1/31/10 12:30pm]

Anyone know if these 3-D glasses are the usual blue/red deal, or a different kind of lens for viewing the MJ tribute? I don't want to have to go to Target if I don't have to. I have a bunch of those blue/red glasses. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

No, they're actually the lower-quality red and blue kind (see this page for info: http://prince.org/msg/8/329052?&pg=3 ). I don't know why that advertisement shows them in gray. They would have had gray lenses (with cool black Wafarer-style frames) at the O2 if the tragedy had not occurred. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. http://www.reuters.com/ar...arketsNews He won but not for the award in question...well yet anyway! The article posted said: "Neil Young Archives Vol. 1 (1963-1972)" won the Grammy for best art direction on a boxed or special limited edition package.
He will also compete later in the ceremony for the best solo rock vocal Grammy, a tough field featuring Bob Dylan, John Fogerty, Bruce Springsteen and odd-man-out Prince. [Edited 1/31/10 14:17pm] I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Btw, I saw Christmal Carol too and I was very dissapointed. I soooo prefer the old Disney version.
