But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, for so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Matthew 6:3-43

If you want to donate to Wyclef's organization, then send a text to "Yele" at 501501 - and donate $5.00. I'm sure Wyclef and the victims/survivors of the Haiti earthquake, will appreciate your generosity and concern. You can also go to the red cross' website and donate there. This recent tragedy is not about Prince, but about the victims of it. Besides, you don't have to be a celebrity to donate to victims of a natural disaster nor do you have to have family where it happens, the only requirement is "compassion."

I donated $10.00 to the Haiti relief, nothing whooping but if everyone took their part it would make a huge amount of money.

HARRP begins with H COINCIDENCE??? Let me help you stop the conspiracy theories before you take it out of hand. No coincidence. The name Haiti was given to the island when the Africans won their independence from slavery from the French. They modified the original name of the island, which was called "Ayiti" by the Taino/Arawaks who were the original inhabitants of the island, when the Spanish/French invaded it and brought Africans to the island and forced both the Africans/Natives into slavery. No conspiracy theory to worry about. Ancient names of present day Haiti : Ayiti, Quisqueya, Bohio Keep in mind the majority of all the Caribbean islands were first inhabited by the Ciboney, Carib, Taino, Arawaks, just to name a few. The same indigenous groups that originally inhabited the majority of the Caribbean islands that my maternal/parternal/great-grandparents/grandparents/parents and other family members (modern day U.S. VI & BVI (Virgin Gorda/Tortola/St.Thomas/St. John/Croix), before the Africans were brought over to those islands and forced into slavery, along with those from those native groups. So you see...no conspiracy theory. A little knowledge always helps. Here's some info for you about Haiti: http://www.uhhp.com/haiti...story.html History of Haiti's name: Names given by the original inhabitants who occupied the island before Christopher Columbus. Ayiti means “mountainous land” in the language of the inhabitants of the island. Quisqueya, means “big land” to the natives of the islands surrounding Ayiti. Bohio means “rich in villages.” AYTI (or Ayiti) is composed of three roots: “A” meaning flower; “Y” meaning high; TI meaning land or region. AYTI hence means “flower of high land” or “mountainous land” or “land of high mountains.”
When Christopher Columbus discovered Ayiti, it was inhabited by the Carib tribe and Tainos of the Arawak tribe. It was also divided into five kingdoms named Caciquats: Magua, Marien, Xaragua, Maguana, and Higuey. Again, if you are concerned about donating and helping Haiti, no need to wait for any celebrity, musician, or any public figure to tell you when or if you should donate or worry about a conspiracy theory regarding the present-day name of Haiti. Here's some charity organizations you may want to donate to: American Red Cross Donate $10 by texting “HAITI” to 9-0-9-9-9. Visit redcross.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS. Yele Haiti, 212-352-0552 Wyclef Jean's grassroots org Text Yele to 501501 to donate $5 via cellphone Doctors Without Borders, 888-392-0392 Doctorswithoutborders.org [Edited 1/16/10 20:12pm]

How do you know he hasn't? That was certainly about to be my response exactly. My best guess would be that Prince's accountants have long since taken care of that. And I'm quite sure there would be many that would have found it offensive if Prince had tooted his own horn about it.

This is the problem...too many people are so concerned with what other people are doing when they should only make sure they do what needs to be done. When you stay busy worrying about what other people are doing to make the world a better place you lose track on what you supposed to be doing and could sometimes get in serious trouble IF you're doing anything at all.

I remember a tornado or some storm a few years ago hit a town that is actually named Prince somewhere in NC or SC, Prince donated money to the town and no one was the wiser.
Also during Hurricane Katrina Prince had a charity fund donated towards Katrina relief

Its much better to give without the need to receive acknowledgement otherwise ask yourself why give at all ? what I mean is giving should be the important part not the acknowledgement of others. When people give its rather important for the soul (I believe) that no one but you and God knows because if others know it takes away from the true gift of giving. Thats what I believe anyways I am sure P gives we just will never know and thats the way it should be.
