HALLUCINATION RAIN: electric violin or guitar? HI!
I think this song is one of the best of the 90's era...lately I have read that the solo (truly beautiful by the way) is played with an electric violin, actually I though it was guitar, specially the bit where the wah-wah goes wild. so, is this violin or guitar? who played it?

relax
eye have read the credits but the credits do NOT say "THERE IS NO GUITAR on here" also if U have paid any attention 2 Prince through the years he has the least accurate album credits and often mis-credits people or doesn't credit them at all. Also - eye did say there was electric violin but there mite b guitar also... ...so like an Eskimo....chill thaCONcept

It is indeed a violin and that solo is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever in his catalog. Stunning. I believe that sex is a beautiful thing between two people. Between five, it's fantastic.

no transition at all
its electric violin with wah wah effect no guitar

Actually....
The Violin (wah-wah effects and all) is the lead but the electric (wah-wah) guitar in the backround is Prince.... --Trust and Believe-- Jshua

If you don't I'll help you out, because I have that extraordinary skill of being able to actually read "Princebonics" - no lie! - although it took me several years to figure out what they might possibly stand for... Anyway, nothing he said was wrong, he even might be right.

However, this is most likely an electric violin only.

In fact, cut out the segues sometime and listen to JUST the songs. It's a great album. "The Exodus Has Begun" is refunkulous! There's an "early configuration" version of the whole album floating around out there too. It's worth the digging around.

It reminds me of the devil playing violin in "The Devil Went Down To Georgia".

You can also get it on the Get Wild Single. It has Get Wild, Beautiful Girl, and Hallucination Rain(5:52 not the 11:07 version). [Edited 1/17/10 18:58pm] [Edited 1/17/10 19:02pm]

I found out that Denis Boder died in the early 00's .
apparently his talent was overwhelming giving credit to what people had to say about him. listening to what he did on Hallucination rain is easy to believe it. unfortunately there's so little to find out on the web...too too bad!
