I Think Prince is a Nice Guy.

I do. I Really do. cool

Prince must have a million moods that go along with all of his responsibilities. A guy like Prince has to learn how to arrange his time. Sometimes living is just keeping it going. The Music...The Art...The expressiveness...The Sharing. That's Nice. Kind...Sweet. cool

Pure conjecture. Same as thinking he's gay or straight.
You just don't know.

I know two things though. He's douchey when it comes to dealing with his fansites and he's talented. All else is conjecture.

I wonder how much of Prince's, "Time Pie," is lonliness? I doubt he's mean if he's ever lonely. Maybe Prince works all of the time to cover up being alone and lonely sometimes. cool

I've never viewed Prince as being one who gets lonesome. And that's not because of the random women around him. He just doesn't appear to be the sad, "lonely-type." He may be a loner, but that's very different from feeling oh-so-lonely, lol. Loners prefer and want to be by themselves.

But like people always say: Who knows.

I think he's a nice guy as well.
More misunderstood, though, if anything.

I interpret that line as him missing a woman, but not necessarily feeling desolated or lonely. You can be sad when someone is gone, but still want to be alone. Plus, I think some of his love songs, like that one, contain clever, rhyming lyrics and not necessarily descriptions of his personal life. "Sitting on the floor in an all white room?" No way, he would be distracted in a studio somewhere, lol. But this is all my conjecture. I may be totally wrong. shrug

Another thought: That lyric could have been a psychic message about this new movie "Avatar." hmmm .... lol

i think he has a good heart at the end of the day. the women he marries are a reflection of him, and judging from such, so far... he has picked good hearted women. if he wasnt good on the inside, his choice of mates wouldnt be so likeable. imo. (im only referring to his wives of course, mani and mayte)

Having met him (briefly), I can confirm that he was very nice. Polite, respectful and humble.

I get the impression that he finds it difficult to communicate with people that he works with, and some people either get him, or they don't.

If you watch Kevin Smith's DVD "An Evening With Kevin Smith", from the stories he tells about when he spent a week working at Paisley Park, you'd think Prince is an asshole. But I think that Kevin maybe mistook Prince's reserved nature for arrogance, and found him difficult to work with because Prince is used to controlling the situation, with people who work for him, as opposed to with him.

It's a pretty consistent theme throughout Prince's career. For example, take into consideration the story of how he fired Owen Husney as his manager. Prince called Owen wanting a space heater for his rehearsal space, and Owen told him he was busy trying to finalize some concerts and to have Andre do it. Then Prince fired him because of that. So the story goes, anyway.

It kinda points towards Prince viewing the relationship as Husney working for him, and Husney viewing it as a mutually beneficial, or equal partnership. Of course as Prince became more famous, it was clear that he was always the bottom line with people he was working with. It had to be his way, or the highway.

The Kevin Smith thing is similar. I'm a fan of Kevin, and although he is a humble guy, he operates in a similar fashion to Prince. He directs and writes his films, and has the final say. Interestingly his next movie, 'Cop Out' starring Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan, is the first film that he has directed without having written it himself. But generally speaking he's usually the person in control of the situation.

But even though he's a long-time fan of Prince, he was never going to view that relationship as him working for Prince, per se. This wasn't going to happen - Kevin was already a successful filmmaker and would have viewed it as a equal partnership to get the desired result. Of course, it all went downhill and that's what you hear about on Kev's DVD.

Overall I think he is a nice person. We all have better and worse days so why not Prince. "~Strange" is the way the press talk about 'famous' people, it's a shame that media can have such a bad attitude on persons they don't know themselves.

I've never met him in person but my former boyfriend worked with him in his European tour teams, and he really aprreciated Prince, both as a person as well as musician.
I love Prince and chocolate - in that order

all of you can say he is a nice guy because you never worked with him. i had the displeasure of working with him on the road on the fire it up tour that he did with rick james. prince is a very talented man and i dig his music a whole lot. bottom line he needs to learn how to treat people then he does because being talented gives him no right to treat people with disrespect and rudeness.
