The Life And Times Book!!!

A Prince freind I know in the UK really wants that Life & Times Of Prince Book. The thing is, I am heading over to the USA next week and I have told him that he could have my copy, providing I can get another copy in a Barnes & Noble in the USA to replace mine. Can anyone tell me if Barnes & Noble in the USA are still selling that book(where I got mine originally in the first place)!!!!????

THANKS!!!!! biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin

Hi, firstly B+N ship to the UK, tis how I got my copy of Life and times.
Yep, B+N had copies of Life and Times (in the Minneapolis branches anyway). You could if you wanted and if you know where you are going to be settled, order the book,
http://www.barnesandnoble.com and ask to collect it in store. They can do a search nationwide and bring it to your store of choice.
Safe travels and enjoy:)

All stock is gone according to the online site: http://search.barnesandno...=-1&SZE=25 but some stores may still have it. I would call the stores in your area first.

B&N does indeed have copies of it in the Bay Area, in the bargain bins for $24.99. I just had the clerk hold a copy for me.

I got mine months ago (June) when it was already on the Bargain shelves for about $20 US. If you use the computer kiosks to search the title, it'll tell you exactly where it's at in the store, including if it's on the Bargain shelving (which is how I found it). If it's not at one store, have an employee call another store in the area (if there is one), and find it. See if you can order it, and pay to have it shipped.

Just for the record, I'm in suburbia hell in upstate NY, and there were at least 3 or 4 copies the last time I was at B&N, which was about Sept or so.

Yep. About a half mile from the airport and Mall Of America. Just got back from the MOA actually - had to go Christmas shopping.

Close... Richfield, just south of Minnie. But I grew up in South Minneapolis (my brothers went to High School and College with Michael Bland). When did you live here?

It's a big picture book. Some pages fold out. There's the basic text about Prince's career, lots of pictures, a time line of events, etc. Nothing new per se, it's a compilation, like any other book of its type. But it's nice to look it, and we all like to read about Prince at times (only because, whether we admit it or not, we're not reading for information, we're reading to pick apart the details and find the mistakes LOL). It's a good item to have for your Prince collection. I have it and my 21 Nights book side by side (only because they're both ridiculously BIG hahahaha)

Synopsis

Prince has cut a singular path through the heart of popular music for more than 30 years. After making some of the most inventive albums of the 80s - including 1999, Purple Rain, and Sign "O" The Times - he turned his attention to redefining his role in the music industry, changing his name to an unpronounceable symbol, declaring war on Warner Bros, and leading the internet revolution.

Prince: Life and Times is an authoritative chronicle of his career to date, covering every album, every movie, and every tour. It includes profiles of various key collaborators, assesses his business dealings, and details his many and varied side-projects - on stage, on record, on screen, and beyond

Pages aren`t flimsy either..nice quality pixs..for $20 I thought it was a good since you don`t see a whole lot of books and will probably go out of print at some time,,nice piece for collection,,still see lots of copies in the big box book stores in bay area,

An educated guess would be that it's already out of print. It's relegated to the bargain shelves (actually, always has been) and Barnes & Noble's site states "when they're gone, they're gone". It's a cool book, so folks should get it now while it's cheap. If you're outside the US, make a trade with an American friend.

Well, U all will b interested 2 know that I managed 2 obtain another copy of the book from the Barnes & Noble Bookstore here in Mankato, Minnesota for about $18.00 or thereabouts as a kind Prince freind emailed me a discount coupon from Barnes & Noble!!!! At the time I went there was about 3 copies of the book on the shelves, but when I went there over this past weekend the store was having a HUGE blowout sale and there was none left!!

By the way, I also managed to get the LotusFlower CD set from Target as well, as it was not available in the UK, not that it was of any interest 2 me, but I just got it 2 have in my CD collection!!!! cool cool cool

I Just checked the website and that book is at almost every B & N location here in Virginia, in the Hampton Roads area.
I've seen it when it first came out and I can say that there isn't really anything new in it, but it's way better and more worth the money than 21 nights.
