Quadruple Threat

What other 3 artists would you like Prince to tour with as opening acts.

My pick would be in this order:
The Family. Yes reunited!!
Mavis Staples. Please include Positivity on your set list
Alicia Keyes. Could you do a cover of Adore

Then you know when their sets are over its time for DADDY POP to hit the stage!!

Set you mind free peeps and shoot for the stars in the Ruby Skyyyy!!

You do know The Family is reunited, and about to drop a new album, right? They're called FDeluxe now, not The Family (yes Prince was a douchebag about letting them use the name so instead of fighting it, they got a new name). I've heard about 5 tracks from the album, and it's fabulous! Wendy and Lisa are on it. Susannah's husband, the very cool Doyle Bramhall II, plays on it as well. The song "Drummers and Healers" will set you on your ass! Doyle did an incredible solo in that song.....IN ONE TAKE. I watched him do it.

It truly is a family affair. I cannot wait for this album. "Vigil" and "@8" are both incredible songs too.

Yeah. I love all those cats on the new release coming out. Maybe if they've can't reunite on the same stage, than maybe play a different venue across the street and I can run back and forth to hear them live.hehehehehhehe

The Family is all back together - Paul, Susannah, Eric, Jellybean. Only Jerome isn't part of it (and what did he really do anyway?)

Don't want another food fight. So Family is off the bill. I'll put Ingrid Chavez in their place but as long as Jill Jones and Taja Seville can make a few cameo appearance during the tour.

Ahh... I think that's one of those things that depends on how you look at it. I don't think Prince was being a douche about it. He just wants to protect his "brand", and The Family and The Time are basically Prince's monsters, so without his involvement, it kind of isn't the same.

On the other hand, it's kind of easy to be sympathic with the guys from The Family because they all have to earn a living, too, and could benefit from using the name. Looking at it from that point of view makes Prince look like a douche, but really he probably had a discussion with The Family was back before they were even created that he had sole ownership over the rights to the name. It's fair.

"The Family" also isn't the first time a band has used that name. But the fans know they're back together, and are waiting for the CD.

When is that gonna be released? Do you know?

They were originally shooting for December, but even then I thought that was REALLY pushing it, although I didn't have all the details on the album state of production.

I think by spring at the latest it'd be out. I can't imagine it going past that.

Yeah, I know a lot of people name things "The Family". It's kind of an amateur thing to do. Also, a lot of people call things "The Underground".

To be original these days you gotta come up with something that hasn't been taken, and that's hard. The easiest way is to just lay on your keyboard. My band is going to be called "vjasdkl;f" I doubt that is taken.

A Quadruple Threat Tour... yes, I like it. Here's mine:

Madhouse featuring Levi Seacer, Sonny T, Tommy B, Michael B and Eric Leeds - 45-minute set from the Madhouse catalog

The Family featuring the original members - 45-minute set from their album

The Time featuring the original members - 45-minute set from their catalog

Prince featuring Sheila E - 90-minute set from Sheila's catalog and Prince's protege/associated releases (no Prince album songs)
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
