Days of Wild is from this decade????

The original question was, "What are your 3 favorite Prince songs he released of the decade?"

"Days of Wild" was released June 30, 2002 as a single, recorded in Montreal earlier that year. Although greatly overdubbed, it's not a bad recording of the song. The best is the version from The Beautiful Experience, and another good version is on Crystal Ball.

The version that was issued during the Celebration (without all of the extra dubs) is much better than the single version.

Was One Nite Alone the first album of this decade? I forget. confuse

Anyway.

Everlasting Now
Musicology
Call My Name

and the Case of U and Crimson and Clover covers get honorable mention.

None of those songs would make my Prince top-20 list, though. Slim pickings.

Album Discography this decade:
2001: The Rainbow Children
2002: One Nite Alone...
2002: One Nite Alone Live
2003: Xpectation
2003: N.E.W.S
2004: Musicology
2004: The Chocolate Invasion
2004: The Slaughterhouse
2006: 3121
2007: Planet Earth
2009: LOtUSFLOW3R

What about Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic that came out in 2000?

It did! It was released in 1999, but the remix album came out in 2000.

That was 1999, early on.

The remix album, Rave IN2 came out in 2000 at some point, and yes, should be considered in this decade's discography.

It was nearly a year later, I believe. I remember getting mine in the Summer of 2000.

Rave Un2 - November 9, 1999 (I thought it was early in the year, but I guess not)*
Rave In2 - April 29, 2000

I bought mine from 1800NEWFUNK, and I think I got it in July or something.

*I think I was thinking of "1999: The New Master", which was released 02Feb99.

1. Call My Name (Musicology)

2. Here (Lotus Flower)

3. Boom (Lotus Flower)

Tough to narrow it down to 3, but I don't want to break the rules. smile

Honorable mention however, goes to:

PFunk... Hard to keep that out of my top 3! Brilliant jam!
The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!

The "rap" is embarrassing on it. It's in line with "Mr. Goodnight".

I actually like that. Stemming from the fact that I consider myself a B*Boy and my "1st" music was Hip Hop ... I did not find it "embarrassing" but you're my man "e" ...

Aside from "The Rainbow Children"(which I think his BEST musically produced work of the decade),,,,,most of the times he put his foot down musically was in outtakes.
