I'm sorry, but I SWEAR I heard or read an interview (that was posted on HQ I think) with Alan Leeds, or maybe the directors of Purple Rain and they stated that there were many scenes deleted and they stated that when The Time walked past Prince's dressing room teasing him, Wendy had a line that was left out and Prince put it on "Baby I'm A Star". I apologize for sounding like an unreliable source but I SWEAR I heard/read it somewhere. It was a couple of years ago.

Thanks Renata for the scoop. I kinda knew Lisa sing those lines but I am glad that you and her confirmed things.

Like Renata said on her tweet Lisa did sing a lot of female vox during this time period because P likes her voice (and so do I). She also sang a lot of female vox on 17 Days. Not to mention she sang a lot on 1999 (Wendy confirmed this to me when I emailed her years ago because I was confused who sing the female lead Jill or Lisa) and I am trying to figure out where in the hell were Jill's vocals on the song 1999. I always say that Lisa has the better voice between her and Wendy.

On 1999, I thought it was Lisa AND Jill singing lead. And on the long version of 1999 (the one on the album) near the end when they start sounding like a choir saying "PAAAARTY!", I thought that it was Jill's voice adlibbing through the whole thing. And I knew that it was Lisa's voice on 17 days. Someone was arguing with me saying it was Brenda's voice (and for a moment, I thought he was right)

I hear TWO female lead vocals on 1999. I hearTWO females saying "I was dreaming when I wrote this...." I don't think they would have two females singing to ONE lead vocal in a video. I know originally it was supposed to be Prince, Dez, and Lisa harmonizing through all the verses.
