He's trying to start a new spiritual revolution....that's what is creepy to me. I know that dates back to the 80s. The whole album is just overall dark with a sadistic feel to it. This is the only Prince album I have that I never play. Even the album cover is dark. Does anyone feel like this too? I could say a lot about that album, but "trash" sums up my feelings on it.

I like listening to "Orgasm" full-blast with the windows down while I drive through the grocery store parking lot on a Sunday morning. That and "Sister".
I like watching the conservative yuppies freak out.

I have to agree this album had a very dark and frustrated feel to it. I love the vocals on "come" especially when he hits the high notes near the end. Outside of that, I was never really impressed with this album as a whole. I feel the same about The Gold Experience, as well. "I hate U", Billy Jack Bitch", "Shhh", and "TMBGITW" are gems, but the rest of that album sucks! I am shocked to read that some people feel these albums as a whole are great...seriously?

No. Come is better than that If you think Come is the worst, have you ever heard: Kamasutra, Newpower Soul, The Vault.. Old Friends 4 Sale, Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic, NEWS, Xpectations, One Night Alone... Piano, Musicology, 3121, Planet Earth ?? those are bad albums, or at least only half good. Come is far better, you should give the album some more listenings, If you do so, I am sure you would really appreciate Come. Or maybe you should get The Dawn 3 cd somewhere. Or The Beautiful Experience video. Come is great, one of my fave Prince albums of the 1990s agreed... favorite track for me is Loose!... it always reminds me of Dead or Alive and Sigue Sigue Sputnik for some reason...

great era in general - so much top rate music created - he seemed to have a second wind - a rebirth if u will - it's a good album, if a little 'isolated' in it's overall feel, but if u take all the tracks he created around this period 93-95? it really makes u stop and say he was really trying different things at this point - he was relevant in a new and fresh way. unfortunately, what with the war with WB, it didn't go quite as well as it looked on paper.
TMBGITW was the only hit. Lovesign/Letitgo/Eye Hate U/Gold/Get Wild were ok minor hits. ....

the 1st time i heard papa it gave the willies, i dont know if intentional, but when he's groaning every time he lands a wallop he sounds so sexual like he's loving every fucking minute. now that woulkd be sweet if he weren't singing about a kid. but i love this album, i'm thinking he was very playful at this era

To me on the song "papa" it sounds like Prince Father is doing more to him then just spanking him.. will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

I remember buying the cassette of this & getting on the bus & riding just to listen it & I was sold from the 1st track, but "Loose", "Papa" & "Orgasm" just didn't do anything for me & still don't although they're tolerable.

This is the only Prince album I have that I never play. Even the album cover is dark. Does anyone feel like this too? I must admit, that before I joined the .org I never gave this record a chance. It's been one of those vinyls that I never put on and hardly ever look at. But with all this praise around these corners of the internet, I gave it a couple of extra spins, and today I actually quite enjoy it. I love how f.. dark it, going places that Madonna's "Erotica" never went (and I admit, I almost and probably unjustified feel as if this record some how was a: "Material girl you're real nasty, but I'm gonna f.cking nasty U out" on Prince's part. Both released pretty close to each other). I'll take Come over Emancipation anyday. Come gets under your skin, messes with your mind, so to speak.
