Prince sure gets banned a lot. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Remember, Prince had Q&A's, chat rooms and forums on his past sites, and they were HEAVILY moderated, edited, and censored, all to appear heavenly, Utopian, and perfect. Ohhh, everyone's happy and in love with everyone. No customer complaints, etc. Bullshit. So knowing that's how he worked in the past, why the heck would logic dictate that he'd open himself up for a Q&A on the Org, without HEAVY moderation by our Mods, and a list of rules spit out to everyone and anyone on here? Frankly, given all that, I think it'd be really boring. "Oh, when is your next CD?" "When Jehovah sends it to me." "Do you still use Paisley Park?" "Yes, it's my playground." B O R I N G. I'm not bashing the idea of Prince coming here, but rather being realistic about the possibilities and logistics of it. Won't happen. true true!

That is a nice idea...however it would be superficial...
If Prince going at an "honest," Question & Answer conversation took place....A book would be made. I don't believe that Prince feels it necessary to answer the questions his fans really want to know the answers to. "What girl were you in the pants of when such and such song was written..." "Who do U Love?" U know what I mean... The music on stage is when U can get there as a fan...otherwise you're in the dark, with only a flashlight of your own speculation. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

While I agree about the asshole part (as we've all had our moments of it), the truth is the truth. Let me expound on something I've been thinking about with this thread: I think it's not fully in how it's presented, but rather moreso in how it's taken, whether it's considered "positive" or not. If I am near a person and they stink to high heaven, and I say "You have some odor coming from your body," is that negative or positive? They might be offended by someone telling them that, but it's still the truth. THe same goes for Prince's music. If I tell him (and I would) that The Rainbow Children is chalked full of nonsense and segregationist idealisms (yeah I made that word up) and only served to separate his fans, opposed to unite them...., and he gets pissy about that, which is worse? Me telling the truth, or him getting a stick in his ass about it? I ain't out to hate on Prince if there was a Q&A, but if I'm ever part of one, I'm going to be that guy that asks the hard question(s). I will be his white Nelson George. I think any musician's true gauge of success is their fan base's response. They are the true critics. Musicians constantly say "I like to speak through my music". Janet, Prince.....many have said that. So if the fans are REALLY into the music, know the music, can play the music (for those that are musicians, as I am), isn't the fan the true meter of "good or bad", "honest or lie", or whatever? Prince talks about critics not being musicians, and not qualified to judge his music. But what if his fans ARE musicians and song writers? Will he sit, listen, and talk to THOSE fans about his music? Or will he come up with another excuse of "They don't know MY music", the way he did with Susan Rogers (who isn't a musician, but was certainly there through the creation process for an endless string of music from Prince)? Makes one wonder. I still think Prince is afraid of the truth, despite his claims to searching for it.
