Artists that you've purchased because Prince connection? Which artists have you purchased music from based on their Prince connection? Or Prince got you interested in them?
Prince either referenced them, talked about them somewhere, covered them, included them on one of his "playlists" etc. -- but NOT a Prince project. So for folks that might include Beatles, Led Zeppelin, but not Ingrid Chavez. For me that list would include: Foo Fighters, Sly and the Family Stone, Miles Davis, Joni Mitchel, Parliament, Y'all?

Back in the day (mid 90s) i bought Sly and the Family Stone's Fresh and GCS because he had included Hair and Babies makin Babies in his concerts. I was also constantly on the lookout for Parliament but it was hard to come by at the time.
I guess I got into James Brown too because of a live Prince version of Sex Machine i heard on a boot, so in some ways Prince is responsible for me getting into the funk thang in a big way. Take it - like Clarence said:
"I got a million of them - all different U know."

I went to an early Alicia Keys gig in a very small club, because Prince liked her. I'm glad I did, because it was a very good performance and she sang very well. These days she does nothing but arena's and she has adapted a kind of wailing style of singing I don't like at all.

I have albums by the Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Parliament, and Led Zeppelin but I listened to them before I ever heard of Prince! Their music made me want to hear him, not the other way around!

Among others, my 3 most notable are:
Cocteau Twins Ani DiFranco And I've become HUGE fans of each of these artists because of it. "I Was FINE Back in the Day!"

There are so many...I have appreciate the listening bar from Joni Mitchel to the Masters of the Funk. He has taught me that sounds of music run the sphere of life. Prince's Sarah

Got this as a recommendation for having a Prince vibe. Particular standouts are "Countdown 2000" and "? $ Luv". Not a bad album. Everybody is special. Everybody. Everybody is a hero, a lover, a fool, a villain. Everybody. Everybody has their story to tell.
