Stevie Nicks,Stand Back and Little Red Corvette

I love Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks was perhaps the most beautiful woman in the world(to me) at one point.
So apparently she wrote Stand Back and Prince was the inspiration for it.
Prince even supposedly played synth for it.
Does anyone know the full story?
I remember a little concert montage from years ago when Stevie was nearly close to tears describing how great Prince was.
anyone?
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

Nah - the search engine in the top right hand corner -

enter: stand back stevie nicks

Still can't find that clip for you yet, though!

If I come across it, I'll post here and pm you (unless some other good soul finds it).

Whatever you do, don't use Google. Don't use the search window on Prince.org. Don't do ANY of those things first. Wouldn't hear of it.

that's american sarcasm. it's like scottish sarcasm without the humour and deep frying. the problem with ernest is you can only understand him if you followed him on usenet in the olden days when pc's were called abacuses

Not sure what you're going on about.

Muirdo: You have to know that the Nicks story isn't new, and chances are that it's been discussed ad naseum. Put in "Stevie Nicks" and/or "Stand Back" in the search box and I'd bet you a blowjob from Unique that you'd find all the answers you'd want.

Also, if you read "DMSR: Prince - The First Decade" from Per Nilsen, it's detailed in there as well. It's a fun story, and worth tracking down on your own.

Wasn't there a Stevie Nicks video interview about this before the LA Musicology show? She seemed a bit choked up there. The circulating video of the show doesn't include that though...I think.

from the link (in case that page disappears before this question comes up again on here)

I phoned Prince out of the blue, hummed a melody, and he listened," says Nicks of the latter hit's gestation. "I hung up, and he came over within the hour. He listened again, and I said, 'Do you hate it?' He said, 'No,' and walked over to the synthesizers that were set up, was absolutely brilliant for about twenty five minutes, and then left. He was so uncanny, so wild, he spoiled me for every band I've ever had because nobody can exactly re-create - not even with two piano players-what Prince did all by his little self.
