Kiss, in 1998. I was riding home with my mom and it came on the radio and I remember my mom commenting,
"Prince's voice doesn't go with that music at all!"

1981, touring with the Stones, I was in High School and could care less about the Stones or Prince and had to go to take pictures but leave after 4 songs by the stones to make it from the Astrodome to my school where the photos were delveloped and the article was written for the Friday student Newspaper.

I was pissed I had to go because Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band was going to be on Carson that night. Oddly, I would be screaming this man's name at the reunion arena a few years later during the triple threat tour.

I would have laughed in your face if you told me he would be an item one day.

Let's see... I am sure I heard other songs but as a NON fan of any of the bands that night - I think there were maybe one or two others - the one about Jacking Off was the one that stuck my mind as I commented to the girl in the car ride back, women don't "jack off" and call it that. There were a lot of boos and a little trash but nothing that made it on stage that night.

Let's see, years later going to a Stones concert they were playing Sexy MF.

I remember watching parts of Purple Rain when my parents got it on laserdisk. However, I was only 5 at the time so I don't specifically remember the songs. A couple years later I heard When Doves Cry and I recognized it, so it must have been my first.

When doves cry. I was sat on a hotel bed in Florida on my holidays with my folks just before my 11th birthday. I rememeber hearing that guitar intro and thinking 'I have never heard anything like this before in my life', and that was it.....I was transfixed by all things Prince from then on.
