Something In the Water (Does Not Compute)

Can't stop listening to the unreleased version of this track. I love the one on 1999, but the unreleased version is the shit!

I like both, but the official is better in my opinion. The screams makes the song!

I love the version he did at the Roadhouse Garden Rehearsal.

Absolutely Brilliant!!! I don't know why he didn't play it live in front of a crowd.

I do lve the unreleased version. but it does sound like a demo.
I realy like the piano parts during the chourus breaks.

but the released version towers over it. some of the rawest songs
Prince done IMO

I actually like the fact that he doesn't scream in the unreleased version. And the lengthy instrumental section towards the end with all the piano and synth trickery is just friggin awesome.

The unreleased version was actually recorded much later than the released version.
The 1984 rehearsal versions, almost 15 minutes long, are also worth checking out if you like this song.I love it, one of my favorite Prince songs. I still haven´t heard the acoustic guitar version though, only the one he did on piano.

Are you referring to me? As I said above, there are several, very guitar heavy 1984 rehearsal versions, and then there are the 2004 Musicology acoustic version and the 21 Nights piano version (if I recall correctly).

Yeah I like the lengthy rehearsal one too. It's slower and groovy. @PurpleDiamond2009, the one I'm referring to is a little more jazzy than the released version, and he doesn't scream on it. There's more piano, and he leaves off the "Some people think I'm kinda cute but that don't compute when it comes to y.o.u." line.

Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

Honestly, I really don´t know how to do that. I´d probably have to turn it into an MP3 first with Audiograbber(?) and then send it somehow but I have visitors coming soon and I´m too busy right now. You can find it on the internet.
