There's also a random beep in the live version of America that was used for the video. Maybe Prince just likes to throw a random beep into things now and again.

I never really noticed it much. The lyrics are always my main concern in this song. They're awfully good! I love the Cat rap part. Nice that everyone picks up something different that grooves them.
