Does anyone read Rolling Stone?

I have a subscription & I read it pretty much from front to back every month. A lot of times I learn about new artists that are actually decent & they follow up w/ the modern classics all the way through to the legends but they are forever focusing on these lame pop artists w/ little talent but a good producer. Even still, while they are often chasing these great bands & covering their amazing shows you never hear of any of Prince's shows that we hear about here. It's these events that should be recorded for. To RS credit Prince is usually mentioned in it about every other month or so if just even if from a critic referencing another artist's sound or inspiration. I actually heard about Prince's cover of Creep from RS as a dl.

Do you think Prince discourages this type of photojournalism for his shows, or perhaps he somehow bans it or is he that uninteresting to modern music magazines. I'm not talking about front page photo opps necessarily, I'm talking about real journalism in music. what do think?

When I was younger Rolling Stone was probably the best music magazine for a black kid not listening to black music. They put artists that appealed to me in there almost every month and it was required reading in my opinion. now they gone down the same path as MTV and delved into politics and current events. There's nothing wrong with that but I loved it for the music and they've moved away from that too much for my taste. If I want to follow the election or the war I can pick up a newspaper or watch a news program. There are too few music magazines that can appeal to all audiences not just a single demographic out now. Rolling Stone was a great loss to me.
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

It recently switched to normal magazine size too, so no more big RS mags. I thought that kind of sucked but whatever.

Ahahaha, I have just a few 365's left, and I'm doing everything I can before it ends. A few friends did a RS cover (one gay guy did a clone pic of the famous John Lennon and Yoko pic, the other friend did a Coldplay cover), and I decided to do one. This one seemed the easiest.

I THINK he did the cover w/ Vanity and Prince, as well as the arm pit cover with the title "Prince's Hot Rock"
