I was just looking for the thread where people here were criticising Prince for firing Candy Dulfer after the first O2 Aftershow. Whilst the thread was criticising Prince it was considered fine and part of Prince: Music and More. This forum was a perfectly natural place for the thread. It was about Prince's treatment of a guest performer at a Prince concert and even (weirdly) suggested that the name Prince chose for a Prince song may be related to this imagined incident.

Once the rumours were put to the test and were shown to be bogus (both by her own prearranged unavailability and her comments in Dutch articles at the time)suddenly the thread was moved to the less visited Associated artist.forum. It was not moved by a request to discuss elsewhere or link to that forum as has been a common way to keep forums on topic before. It just disppeared as soon as the anti-Prince rumour was squashed. Whilst a number of comments did degenerate into expressions of, shall we say, lustful respect for Candy, it was an important discussion that showed that there are two versions of Prince history: One based on fact and the other based on Orger's preferred version.

1) the moderators have lives. They aren't watching everything all the time, so it got moved when a moderator saw it and made a judgment call,
2) It was probably removed, because if the truth came out, why entertain a thread full of rumors and nonsense?
3) There's other forums you can join as well.

I agree with your first and third comment (Although I disagree with the judgement call).

However, to answer your question in the second comment: There are myriad threads chock full of rumours and nonsense, it is most forum's life blood and Org is certainly up there with the best of them. There a large number of people that feel that this site is not a friendly site - not friendly to Prince and not to fans of Prince. Some stay and seek to improve the site, many just lurk for info on Prince or go away completely. This thread started out as yet another attack on Prince by rumour and nonsense, and was not the first on this specific issue, but this time it concluded with fact and commonsense. This is the reason the thread should be entertained and not hidden away in a less frequented section of Org. Those who missed the correction to the rumour and nonsense as a result of its move will come away believing that this imagined incident is another real life example of Prince's poor treatment of others.

On this occasion, Prince wasn't as much of an asshole as you may have thought he was. Go look in 'Associated Artists' for proof.

This is self evident and understood, but is this a good response by a rep of the Org to a comment that this place can be seen as an unfriendly place to Prince and his fans?
