No more Candy Dulfer 4 U... ?

2 questions....

1. Why did Prince fire Candy Dulfer for the London shows ?

2. Do you think Prince came up with the title "No More Candy 4 U" after he had fired her...?

sorry if these are silly questions. wink

I'm a big fan of her, Candy.. since she appeared in that Partyman Video back then in '89.. love2

Sad if she is gone from Prince's band for good. cry

SheAshe missed her flight or her flight was late for the first o2 main show and she missed the gig. Thus was cuz she bad a solo show the nite before. After the first afterparty prince decided that he dindnt need her cuz 2 sax players were enough. You can read between the lines to find the real reason no one dares to mention.

The things I would eat off of/out of that woman's body...

When I met her in Cleveland, I was totally flabbergasted. Offered to buy her a drink, but she only drank bottled water because "you never know what they put in these drinks."

So I just drank the roofie colada myself.

Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another

As far as I know she didn't miss her flight. She showed up for the first show, in time, and he told her he wouldn't be needing except for the aftershow. The next day he said he had enough horn players.

Candy cancelled her own tour just to play with Prince, only to be told her services weren't needed a day AFTER the O2 shows began. Not cool.

There have been several band members involved with Prince that have cancelled paying gigs 2 play with Prince, then Prince changes his plans and cost these people $$. It's flat out wrong.

It's defintely not on to cancel shows when others have cancelled theirs to be their. But now there are conflicting stories. Thing is, under what type of contractual terms and conditions do their band players sign up on?

I seen her front row at a ONA LIVE show...she turned around and I was like(outloud!)"Candy got a phat ass!" I didn't yell it or anything. I was mostly saying it to myself but at an audible level.

she paused and turned for a second and then kept going. I think she heard me, but I meant it in a complementary fashion. She's got a WONDERFUL ass.

She was so nice to my daughter at the Musicology shows. It was Candy that had security get her out of the crowd in Houston and put her on stage when she noticed my daughter wasn't already up there.

And her mom made sure Candy signed tambourines for us at San Antonio and Houston.

Pure beauty, inside and out, as far as I'm concerned!

as far as i know, the "not needed" was the official word, but the real story was something else. i've probably put my foot in it by saying too much, so ignore everything i've ever said. and let's get this clear, i did not sleep with candys mom

Candy Dulfer had her own career before Prince and continued to have a steady career after her appearnace in the Partyman video. i sincerley doubt whatever arrangement Prince and she have can be summed up as a mere job. same goes for Maceo Parker. both of them tour seperately from Prince and still release their own material as well. Prince is probaly grateful they can make time to come out when him for the times that they can.
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Didn't he do the same to Wendy?

The rumour was she was booked to do an acoustic section with him at the O2 and then he changed his mind.

Chris!! Wendy and Candy wouldn've been better than those talentless Twinz!

I remember she said something about this during a DUTCH tv program called DE WERELD DRAAID DOOR... I'm trying to find the clip, can't seem to find it!

She wasn't fired as I remember, Prince just changed his mind about another Sax player... And she's was already in London, so she booked a flight back home on Prince his cost, if I remember right!

damn, I wanna see that CLIP again!

Let’s see if these rumours fit the facts: Was Candy Dulfer even available to drop everything for Prince over most of August to September 2007 (plus before hand for preparation) so she could have been fired?

- She released the album “Candy Store” at the same time as these concerts
- She started a series of performances at the Sugar Factory on the first of Monday of each month at the same as these concerts
- She was on tour June to August with the Candy and Friends Tour
- In September, prior to Prince's last concert she was on tour in Japan
- She had a TV show that aired in Autumn 2007, not at the same time but surely she had to some prep for this.

Perhaps there is a more rational explanation that does not require us "fans" to blame Prince?

Congrats to SupaFunkyOrganGrinderSexy for being the voice of (sarcy) reason.
