Actually, he and his music inspired and helped me to hold my ground and be myself. In my hometown, most people are country hicks and rednecks. If you dont fall in that catagory, you are made fun of and looked down on. But seeing how Prince broke the mold, defied the odds, & bucked the system really helped me to do the same.

Id rather dress 2 make a woman stare, Im putting on something that another wont dare. These are freezer burn compared 2 cool. And if i still got loot then whos the fool?"

I moved to Minneapolis. Danced at Paisley Park and currently have a great career.
Thanks Prince!

nod Same here!
I learned how to explore sounds I wasn't familiar with. If it wasn't for him I might have been listening to popsicle songs all my life!

I was thinking back to when I first became a Prince fan and how his music influenced my life, in what ways. One big change was when I moved to another state and wanted to get fit. I started riding my ten speed bike every day, at first to the beach, and then for miles...all while playing Around The World In A Day and 1999 on my Walkman. The music made me want to go faster and further until I got into long distance cycling with other riders and lost thirty pounds. This transferred into a desire to go to clubs where they played Prince's music and dance all night long! What has Prince's music caused you to change in your life in a practical or life-altering way (i.e. career change, life outlook, etc.)? cool

I was somewhat of a bigot and racist before I got into P's music. My world opened up a lot more since those days. cool

Gets a 10/10 from me SPOOKYGAS lol

As an earlier poster said, I wouldn't say Prince or any artist has caused me to change anything in my life. But, I believe I have certain ways of thought and or tendencies and when these are echoed to me through music, it reinforces my original thoughts.

From Prince's music, those would be spiritual thoughts about how to treat people, and how love is the opposite of fear. Also, what things are shallow and what things aren't. I'm glad Prince and I have similar levels of thought. It makes me feel he's more human than just a superstar. I guess we all relate to what's good for us.

That's kinda how it worked 4 me 2.....
Prince didn't change me as much as gave me more conviction about who I am, most particularly as a teenager.
His music resonated more deeply, more consistantly, than any other artist.
That echo of thoughts and feelings gave me the added commitment 2 b true 2 myself.
The music re-inforced my spiritual hunger and taught me 2 never b ashamed by my faith in God and Jesus Christ. rainbow

Is that due to the assless pants?
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

Saved my life - litteraly.

Most horrendous time at school from day 1 due to bullying and bearing which spilled over out of school hours with people going out in 'packs' to wait for me after my part-time job.

My crime - a false rumour that I was gay which started as a misheard jokey comment between me and an old friend on my first day... Nothing at all to do with homosexuality. Going to an all boys school this rumour spread like wildfire and, of course, whst better way for people to prove they weren't gay, than to beat up a 'gay' person.

Teachers dud absoloutely nothing because the main perpetrator were the schools rugby team and as they were more 'valuable' to the school than me, it went unpunished.

By 3rd year I was thinking of getting out...permenantly.

A guy started school, he loved Prince, we found we had it in common - became the bestvfriend I could ever wish for who stood by me no matter what and also got a few whacks through his association with me.
